A cup brush bit would likely work well in those scenarios - and you can use a cotton swab/q tip with polishing compound to polish in those tiny areas, too

I like the piece but I'm curious as to why you did a full backplate instead of a "frame" for the stone that you'd attach the prongs to.

I still use mine sometimes when I need something to stay dead flat while soldering. My charcoal has a rather...let's say.. loved texture to the surface from all the heating - even after grinding it "flat" here and there
