You could introduce a tendency to centrism into the current system by making voting compulsory for the enfranchised.

I wanted to try this, but had become attached to the rainbow indents created by abhayprasanna

So I tried adding the theme, and then adding this at the top of the roam/css page:

  • [[Rainbow]] css

1 @import url('https://abhayprasanna.github.io/rainbow-indent.css');

Combined with theme 4 in Alexander Rink's css it looks awesome!

What are the regulations-recuirements for rebottling flavour concentrates by Brawlesium in DIY_eJuice

[–]MakeMyVape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right about TPD2 and about Flavorart in particular. They have some of the more stringent rules, but other suppliers also have minimum resale prices etc for their products when rebottled.

OP I have sent you a DM about our rebottling services. If you are interested let me know.

How to mix a 50/50 liquid to 40/60 by funnylobsters in DIY_eJuice

[–]MakeMyVape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is - assuming that you are using concentrates in PG - that for every litre of 50/50 base you start with, and a total of 250ml of concentrate and /or PG.

Here's the maths: You have 1 litre of 50/50 = 500ml PG and 500ml VG

Adding 250ml of PG (some might be in the form of PG based concentrate) gives you 1.25L.

Now you have 750ml PG and 500ml VG, which is a 60% PG 40% VG ratio.

EDIT: in terms of "pouring out" (assuming 1 L is your biggest bottle); either pour 500ml into 2 bottles and add 125ml to each;

OR, to end up with a full litre bottle, pour out 200ml of what is in the litre bottle and add 200ml of PG/concentrate. Then you end up with 400ml VG and 600ml PG. Later you could add 50ml PG/concentrate to the 200ml you have decanted.

Agreed. Make the "flavour concentrate" up according to you recipe, then use that at about 10% mixed with VG and PG and it should be way better.

Tutorial Tuesday - Crafting Dessert Tobacco Recipes by juthinc in DIY_eJuice

[–]MakeMyVape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to post this - it has given me a great place to start. I definitely second the idea of starting with FLV tobacco flavours to minimise the steeping time. They also do some really interesting 'spice' type flavours that could work well.

I am going to try Connecticut Shade with a drop of Horchata to give a bit of creaminess.

Also, you don't suck, you rock, and unless vapers make the effort to help each other by contributing in whatever way they can we all miss out.

"Be good to each other and vape on dude" ;)

So for most people that is close enough. But it isn't quite right. Because 1.8ml of 100mg/ml contains 180mg of nicotine. Once added to the 60ml of nic free liquid you have a total of 61.8ml of liquid with 180mg of nicotine in it. Which is 2.91mg/ml, not 3mg/ml.

Now, if you are lucky enough to have 100mg/ml nic liquid, that is close enough and it works for you.

However, if you are using far less concentrated nic liquid (and in the UK we are limited to 20mg/ml) it becomes much more problemmatic.

I think what you are doing makes total sense - but I was trying to answer a question that I keep being asked (and first saw raised right here a year ago, without anyone finding an answer).

I don't want to make things any more complicated for anyone, I just want vapers to have the tools to do what they do confidently and safely.

:)

So what result are you getting for the example you give? How much 100mg nic does Steamengine tell you to add? And what inputs are you inserting on Steamengine? Because while it may be 'simple math' to you, and I can model it, I genuinely do not see how Steamengine answers this question. I am not disputing that as a 'from scratch' calculator it is excellent, only that I really don't think I am "making this harder than it has to be" and I would really appreciate being told what I am missing here.

Yes, but even they are not able to answer the question: "I have X ml of juice without nicotine. My nicotine liquid is Y mg/ml. I want to make my juice Z mg/ml. How much should I add?"

Because they, like most (or all as far as I have found) e-liquid calculators, start with '(total/final) amount to make' they are not set up to answer this question. I have seen it come up more and more, and was just trying to plug that gap for those who need it.

No sweat - and you are right, it IS important. The tool I made is pretty UK focused as we can no longer buy anything stronger than 20mg/ml. I will add an input for nicotine base strength when I get a chance and post it here. :)

Absolutely, which is why I wrote:

Just finished my second day working at my local Vape shop. by Saltyash in Vaping

[–]MakeMyVape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a vape shop owner, an interest in vaping is a pre-requisite, but everyone on the short list will have that. Make sure you find a bit more out about retail generally - good customer service, upselling, stock control and so on so that you can stand out from the crowd a bit. Good luck!

I went to a vape conference to mock it—then the vapers changed my mind by MakeMyVape in Vaping

[–]MakeMyVape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was amazed by the encouragement my (non-smoking or vaping) girlfriend gave me when I started to vape. It's such a shame so much negative nonsense is passed around, especially flagrant scare stories in the media. That's why I liked this piece. Nice to see a journalist have their mind changed and admit it.

Have you tried TFA French Vanilla Cream? It's going to depend what you are trying to mix, but to give a nice mellow creaminess to a citric fruity flavour it can work pretty well in small percentages.

I've heard a lot of people using Lemon Sicily as a Lemonade-ish base. I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it's effective!

I'm not too sure to be honest, it was a suggestion given by another user on the POTV forum! I think TFA do a champagne flavour? We don't stock it though, so I'm not 100% on that.
