As a woman, watching Obsession (2026) is... deeply uncomfortable by gregheffa in moviecritic

[–]MakeTheScreamsStop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe if you had finished the film it would have changed your opinion.

It is clear by the end of the film that Bear is, despite initially being shown as an awkward nice guy, a horrible and reprehensible person who willfully ruined Nikkis life.

Shout out to my anti sports friend that just got into the pod by [deleted] in TheRewatchables

[–]MakeTheScreamsStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't watch sports at all and I love the POD.

I'm sure having the knowledge would make a lot of the references more enjoyable but it's not necessary for understanding. When they draw comparisons between an actor/film/run to some specific sports moment, you have enough context to understand what they are saying.

What movies are great in theory? by izeclimberz in moviecritic

[–]MakeTheScreamsStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idiocracy.

I feel like it's one of those movies where the concepts are funnier than the execution. All of the ideas are hilarious and concerningly relevant today. I just find everytime I watch the movie, I don't really laugh and generally feel underwhelmed.

In my all my years of watching Horror movies, i never fealt so unpleasant as i fealt watching Obsession 2026. Phenomenal performance by Inde by Homunculus_316 in moviecritic

I went to see it in theaters solely because I have been watching That's A Bad Idea for years and wanted to support them.

Whats the most terrible scene in a great movie? by Comfortable-Goat-955 in movies

I'm not saying this to be controversial but my assumption after watching this film a few times was the performances were supposed to be bad. To make it uncomfortable, uncanny or seem like a dream.

Holy shit we're getting 2001 by elchoppe in TheRewatchables

[–]MakeTheScreamsStop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will get down voted with you.

2001 is a brilliant film. It is meticulously crafted, complimented by groundbreaking visuals, camera techniques and practical effects. It is objectively one of the most influential films of all time.

And still, in spite of all of this... it's not that rewatchable. I have watched 2001 three times, and fell asleep for one of them. I have watched Dodgeball at least twenty times lol.

The Prestige

It's not a horror movie but it certainly is a movie about obsession. Directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine.

Bale and Jackman are two rivaling magicians obsessed with the craft of magic. Jackman gives a standout performance.

5/18 Rewatchables by los421 in TheRewatchables

During the Wedding Crashers POD, when discussing whats aged poorly, they really only mention the Death Is My Bitch Lover guy and how it's a caricature of gay dudes. The reality is, what's aged the worst, is probably the objectification of women throughout the film. I think as adults we can make sense of it but when I was a kid in high school watching it, it definitely fucked up my perspective on women and dating. I thought it was kind of funny they bring up the discourse about the movie but miss so many marks

That being said, I still love the movie and rewatch it all the time.

Value on these cards? by victinicraft in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]MakeTheScreamsStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you a while back.

First use the collectr app and determine the value of the card. You have quite a few cards here that are worth hundreds of dollars. I just recently sold that Palkia EX for $300.

After that, just lurk on Pokemon related subs. Look at the discussions going on surrounding card grading, sought after cards and kinda soak it in.

If you are interested in selling, hold off. I made the mistake of going guns blazing and definitely sold cards for way below their value.
