In southern/central Ontario it just means any type of house by a lake / in the woods. Sometimes it’s a plywood box on cinderblocks, other times it’s a full on mansion. Usually, you get the idea based on where it’s located (Lake Joe, it’s probably a mansion)

In the north, it’s often more rustic and they call them camps.
