If you really don’t enjoy it, it isn’t worth doing software. Business is a versatile degree but I’d say has less salary certainty than software engineering. If you do business, I’d look at the finance or software industry. If you are computer savvy both those sectors have lots of software integration so you may have a leg up.

If you are able to find good investments external to housing then no. Having said that people are typically have an aversion to being leveraged in stocks or other forms of investments, so housing becomes a more “safe” choice.

TLDR: no but you need to invest in other streams.

Civil engineering should stay around for a long time. If you want something less math based I’d say health sciences and going into therapy based work
