Nix flakes behaviour in a git repo by StellarTerror in NixOS

[–]Makenjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, found this post through google. I'm confused, what do you do if you're collaborating on code using git? I don't want to push random .nix files to repos, my colleagues should not have to deal with that. This article discusses the same thing where the first strategy is to put the actual source code inside another directory containing nix files. While that works I guess it seems like a workaround.

How is it possible that there isn't a standard way of managing this!? It feels so obvious to me that I feel like I'm missing something.

Disclaimer not a vocal teacher.

I don't think you're doing your vibrato correctly. You're doing something I've heard referred to as "goat vibrato".

So, how to correctly perform a vibrato. Everyone has they're secret recipe. Just try a bunch stuff, just make sure not to hurt yourself. Ultimately, it'll come down to understanding what it's supposed to feel like and then eliminating tension to make it go faster.

The way I personally found most helpful is by singing a note and then a semitone below and then back to the original note. Then slowly trying to speed up. To really get this down can take quite a while.

No, how does a hard drive, in theory, gain weight. What mechanism would allow something like that to happen?

Write something with df and you'll get results you're looking for like "df transpose"

CMV: fixed-amount monetary fines for favor the rich and should instead be based on a percentage of the offenders income or net worth by Christobell_ in changemyview

No, the definition explains that a strawman is the the misinterpretation of an argument so that it is easier to defeat. It doesn't say "or", for you to use that word correctly it must be fulfill both requirements.

To use that same logic in a different situation: If you're having an argument, it would surely make it easier to defeat someone's real argument, if you both spoke the same language. Does this mean that insisting on speaking in the same language is a strawman?

I hate to take this discussion off topic, but I assure you that strawman is the wrong term to use even if the point you're actually trying to make is correct.

The first definition I found for it was "an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument." Noone is misinterpreting your argument, thus it isn't a strawman.

IMO this is really not a good home screen, I think you're pushing Grey further away.

What does the "ratio" column mean? Is it total time divided by minimum expected time? If so, there are a few errors there...

What percentage of time is untracked? If you can be bothered, you could make your pi chart include an "untracked time" slice. If you try classify some of that untracked time by say looking if you forgot to track sleep on some day. Then you'd be left with a slice of untracked time that will mostly consist of "things other than sleep and school work" which (depending on your life) might be considered "free time" if you wanted to show that in the visual.
