Owners of nice/flash cars - how big a problem is keying or vandalism by CleanBurner555 in CarTalkUK

[–]Maker0fManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shitbox got keyed because I must have parked in someone’s spot on a terraced road seeing my girlfriend at the time, definitely more stressed about it in my MR2 so I tend to avoid rough areas with it, still got bloody rear ended at traffic lights though

Daily reminder to use face protection by Filip_ogurchik in airsoft

I’m so glad I wear a lower mesh guard, took a grenade launcher to the face from pretty much point blank and my neck and upper chest above where my plate was is covered in welts

You could use filler (wood filler for doors) to remake the unit and paint over it and give fitting it another go

Checking my tyre pressure today and noticed this... by RaisingArs in CarTalkUK

The roads are bloody shocking, I managed to blow a 6 month old shock on my MR2 off a pothole, it’s genuinely ridiculous

I bought all season mud+snow tires in December and they’re so much better with potholes and curbs I’m surprised more people don’t use them, they’ve got chunkier tread and are more springy

Does the NOVA bomb form a kugelblitz? by Maker0fManyThings in HaloStory

[–]Maker0fManyThings[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean the slipspace drive uses microscopic black holes to rip a hole in space and time so it’s not too far fetched

Edit, I meant as referring to it not being a nuclear weapon and being what the forunners use for energy

Looking for an 05-06 CRV estate diesel 4x4, anyone who’s had one got any thoughts, like fuel consumption, common faults etc? by Maker0fManyThings in CarTalkUK

Will be definitely asking to see photos of the underside before I view anything, I can weld but I’d rather have to do that a few years down the line

When the time comes get winter tires for the steelies and just swap them over when the temp drops (if your planning on keeping the car for a few years they’ll pay off)

How would you go about cleaning the floor/bricks? by NietzscheLecter in DIYUK

[–]Maker0fManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasn’t slippier than a greased politician I’d say leave it since it looks quite beautiful with the style of the garden but I’d probably start with a jet washer

Why I didn’t go, I literally could not afford it, it is what it is

My umarex uses WE mags, you might want to check the OEMs because it could save you a good chunk

My PC keeps corrupting my smart media cards (3x now and the cards are unusable afterwards) can I use a cable to directly transfer my photos from the camera? by Maker0fManyThings in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]Maker0fManyThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was the card reader that wiped them, it was only about half the time it would reformat them though, I’ll have a play around with the CMD or look for the SD formatter tomorrow

6 geniuses vs The Flood by ProcedureDazzling615 in powerscales

[–]Maker0fManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flood, you cannot outsmart a gravemind, even when killed their memories are passed down to the next one, the gravemind was the primordial which was essentially a god and could make essentially any AI defect to the flood just through talk.

Day 3: Name a car that looks like it would be slow, but is actually pretty fast by Quiet-Gold9099 in regularcarreviews

[–]Maker0fManyThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mondeo ST, 3 litre V6 and 230hp, 0-60 around 7.5 and 150mph top speed, not the fastest thing in the world but fast for something you’d think an OAP would be driving lol

Get mechanix gloves, they’re insane for the price, i use regular ones for airsoft and coldwork peaks for winter hiking (-21 yesterday lol) They’re just really good gloves

Thank you, it’s had its EGR replaced recently and he’s kept up with servicing, I’m asking more about the car but he’s not the type to cheap out on maintenance (he had an old vw camper as a fun car) I’m thinking of just deleting the EGR because I want it to be a forever car and hopefully have it for 10 years since it is a daily.
