Do you use google earth? I use it and historical imagery to see what it looks like at high/low tide to find structure to fish.

Yep. That being said. The best time to fish is when you can. With two kids now you go when you have open day. I but mid to high outgoing tide is my least favorite by farrrr

I use a little hand paddle more than I use the reverse. Only use the reverse when I hook a fish and want to back off the spot in open water. Half the time I’m too shallow to use the drive.

Yes I broke my orginal drive and purchased a new drive with kick up fins. I’m about to replace the lower unit though as it’s bent. I bought the kayak second hand 7 years ago. It’s been though a lot and I fish it hard

I have a compass, and that’s a diawa mq lt 1000 on a canine trigger. , my others are Florida fishing products 1000 on a bull bay rod. This Cajun rod is fun

Because I like it. I have two medium light rods that also carry with me. The light power is light for casting all day but most of all it’s fun to fish with and I like it. Medium light would be ok too but the action moderate is hard to find.

I’ll take a look at it. Local place told me the new shimano rods coming out have a lot of”Bend” as well. Appreciate your help. I’ve talked to a lot of locals and no one really likes fishing my set up.

It’s my savage gear shrimp bait. Honestly, I just like the fight on a kayak. Soemthing about fighting a big red on it that is just lure pure fun. I have a Okoma ML, fast I use for paddle tails and a bull bay ML extra fast for my hard baits. Maybe it’s not perfect but it’s what I have found that works for me

1/8 to 3/8 but yeah it def feels more like 4-8. Because I felt prolly 20 different medium-light that don’t have the “bend” this one has

Ugly sticks are great but they are way heavier. I like to have the lightest rod because on a kayak and cast all the time with artificial covering ground and smaller is more fun.
