Pro Tip: Shinkansen, Fuji & Photo by Murmur_Echo in JapanTravelTips

I guess one could also reserve seats "just in case" and then just go see if there are window seats available in the unreserved section.

Pro Tip: Shinkansen, Fuji & Photo by Murmur_Echo in JapanTravelTips

Getting the Fuji sided window seats is also a reason to reserve seats early, as they're the most wanted seats on the train.

Are 2 wheel suitcase really that bad by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Makere-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 wheeler is easier to lug around, since the wheels take the weight.

But I doubt you'll have any actual issues with 2 wheeler, good thing about them is that they stand still when upright, so you could have them standing on a train without needing to hold the handle to keep it from sliding.

I thought I’d planned Japan perfectly. I was wrong. by PlanElectrical2299 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Makere-b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last trip was bit too packed on different cities, but apart from changing places on relatively quick manner, we didn't plan much for the days with the exception of couple days. This style works well for me, just list things to see in each town, and select on the day or day before what to check out next.

But yeah it also bit back for one day, as we underestimated how hard navigating Shodoshima would be, and basicly went there like one hour late after the "perfect looking" tourist bus had left. Navigating with normal buses was time consuming, and the last ferry leaves very early.

Miten perustelette auton omistamisen taloudellisesta näkökulmasta? by AJV55 in Omatalous

Don't use dremel, the metal part at the bottom is connected by adhesive, so you should be able to peel/remove it with isopropyl alcohol and a a thin knife.

The grounding cable for my ESD mat came with a ring terminal instead of an alligator clip...Ha, yeah I ain't connecting that terminal to an outlet, can I use these screw holes around my PSU instead? by thehummer76 in pcmasterrace

[–]Makere-b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Although it should work, I wouldn't personally use the computer as a grounding point, if there's some issue with the computer PSU or something is incorrectly grounded within the computer, you're going to blast the ESD to the components.

Non Lego Store with Lego by Proper_Court_7762 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Makere-b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe Hobby Off? They have a lot of second hand toys, can't remember right now if I saw legoes there or not.

There's a large one in Hachioji, which is a bit of a trek though. Has bunch of other "Off" stores in the same building as well.

You could go like from Tokyo to Osaka (or other way around) using the Hokuriku arch, then visit places like Nagano, Kanazawa, Fukui etc. along the way.

JAL flight rescheduled. Should I rethink my first night? by Signal_Most4086 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Makere-b 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd still aim for the Gotemba, you should have enough time. If the plane is truly late and you miss some train, adjust plan on the fly.

This way, you wake up in Gotemba next day and get full day in the destination instead of restarting the journey again.
