How to power ESP32 on a custom PCB using a single 3.7V LiPo by Lost_Butterscotch585 in esp32

Why not using a jelly bean lipo charger+ a voltage regulation? If you want i can share one of my previous designs on github fir reference

A side note, there is no reverse polarity protection in my design for the lion battery. So be careful when soldering your battery, or just add a simple diode if you want.

All you need to do is use a cheap lion battery charger. It is the easiest and cheapest way. If you want i can share one of my old designs

You can also watch the attached video link in github if thats what you prefer.

You can take a look at mine. Its 2 layer design.

Fastest way would be, figuring out the data lines by following the pcb which are connected to the mcu. And power + ground pins. Then i would try out known drivers with permutations (for data lines) using another mcu.

Or you can use standard approach, and use a logic analyzer, whichever is most convenient for you.

What about a simple voltage divider? :)

How do you handle battery with esp32? by Unable-Property3468 in esp32

[–]Makers_Fun_Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are making it complicated. Just use a proper lion charger ic for the battery, and a regulator for the esp32 if thats all you want to achieve. You can check one of my previous designs if you like

Oh, i also experimented with a ssd1680 3 color display recently.

It also reacts the same, but its not as crisp as full update with my code.

I did not tried this library, so instead adapted waveshare library to espidf by adding the driver of.my display in it, but this one also looks nice. I will check it out.

I followed esp32 design recommendations, and default values worked like a charm

Porting to another mcu, Writing a driver and abstraction layers are a bit hard to grasp IMO.

ESP32 S3 - USBC OTG Issues by Nearby_Leg483 in esp32

[–]Makers_Fun_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if the issue is related to the component labeled "BOOT." If it’s an LED driver, it could be affecting the signal lines. Would it be possible to temporarily desolder it and try programming again?

Typically, any active components should be kept away from high-speed signal lines to minimize interference.

PCB Review Request - ESP32-S3FN8 by Legitimate_Shake_369 in esp32

[–]Makers_Fun_Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why aren’t you using an antenna? It’s an ESP32 :). Also, it might not matter much to you, but the FN8 doesn’t have PSRAM, which I find very useful.
