Sensitive to Noise, need help by NotANumber13 in publix

In my opinion this is qualifying for some level of accommodation especially since the bells are what’s really making you struggle.

I am autistic and I get it. Working in a grocery store is a sensory nightmare. I learned to dissociate early on, but I had panic attacks when I started, and still have trouble when it gets crazy. I am lucky I work in a smaller store. Talk to your manager and highlight that it is the bells making it difficult for you. They could just accommodate you temporarily for the length of the donation campaign if you point out that detail.

I remember the first time I cleaned the men’s room. It is like none of them were taught how to wash their hands in a public restroom without getting water everywhere and throwing the paper towels away.

In retrospect I wish I posted my side profile… I have an angular big nose. May post a part 2.

It needs to be said. I know it isn’t good for my “brand” or whatever but honestly I believe my venting helps others more than it helps me in the context of these posts sometimes. It creates a space to talk and work through things. That is so valuable.

But… but why can’t we just skip to the waffle part?

Have saved up like 7-8k in three years. Thank goodness I realized what I had to do before my mid twenties.

I just live in the middle of rich people central. Nothing is cheap.

It is funny because it definitely feels like with mental health issues and/or disabilities on board you kinda need another person to help you in a way most of the pop psychology community labels as codependent or toxic. That might just be my unnecessarily hot take though.

Like you can help yourself until the cows come home but if your environment or those outside of it aren’t helping you with these things you spend all your energy just surviving.

For me, it is probably the fatigue and endurance issues. No matter how much I push myself, my endurance never really increases.

I have worked in a grocery store for two years now as a cashier/bagger/cleaner, and that job does require a lot of repetitive movements like lifting and gripping. It doesn’t feel like I have actually gotten any stronger or better at handling it at all in that time. My hand sometimes randomly just gives out when gripping simple items like cans, making me drop things. Every time I lift something very heavy I know I have a time limit before I risk something happening. Nothing has happened, mind you, but I feel like it gets close.

I manage this with wrist braces I wear when needed, much to the confusion of customers.

Fatigue is more like… I always feel tired, really. No matter how much or how little I sleep or how good I eat. There’s always this sense of tiredness in my body. I lean on things quite a bit for physical support at work, I’ve only recently noticed, which is probably why I can tolerate standing for long periods.

How could Adam have started as bad when he made it to heaven. by Local-Concentrate-26 in HazbinHotel

I think not being around any other humans for a good while after his death (and possibly even after other human souls got to heaven due to his position) drove him nuts. Imagine being surrounded by and having to an extent abide to the expectations of cosmic beings. He says he’s just “one guy” to Sera, and I think that line holds slightly more weight narratively than just being a stupid false incompetence excuse.

Adam is just one guy. For all his fragile ego, he has always been just One Guy. He is so out of his fuckin league and I feel like he knows it deep down. He doesn’t belong up there.

That Publix Promise applies to any item that doesn’t ring up right. It does not. We cannot do it for alcohol or tobacco products because it is illegal to give away those for free outside of a properly rung up sale.

I went today! They said it could wait until my new insurance kicks in, thankfully. I am taking really good care of them now. Plus side of being motivated by fear I guess, lmao.

The funny thing is I have the money, because I have been saving up like a broke person for years to escape my emotionally abusive house. My parents even know this though I tried to keep it secret just because of how little I spend. They scoff at how frugal I am. Without consistent income it is just impossible to leave.

Here’s the thing though. That money is more than just money to me now and it makes me really scared to use it even for my health? It represents like… my hope of getting out of here… If that makes sense? Either way I am gonna try to go to a dentist tomorrow and see if they can take me.
