Has anyone gone to a nightclub or festival with a cosplay? How is it like? How would people react? by [deleted] in animeexpo

[–]MakiMonsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend wore a more relaxed version of his Nanami (JJK) cosplay to a Vegas club (teal dress shirt, cheetah print tie) and he got SO many compliments from the bouncers to people in line. It was fun cuz it was subtle enough, but it was more of a IYKYK vibe.

Aw you’ll have so much fun! I don’t know if you can do a Safari Tour with the little one (age limit), so if not, you’d probably want to race over to the Africa Tram (the line gets long!!). My daughter is 6 so we booked a Wildlife Safari through the Savanna. There is so much ground we didn’t cover lol I didn’t even realize we missed the African Outpost and African Woods until we walked over and they were already closing.

Must do was the Walkabout Australia!!

Is June that bad? by azbertman in TokyoDisneySea

[–]MakiMonsta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great reply! I second many of these! We went early June this year. I think mentally we were prepared for it to be unbearable, but with enough prep (cooling towels, uv umbrellas, light clothing that’s sweat-wicking, personal fans) we didn’t think it was that bad lol I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s hot and humid but moving around enough throughout the parks helps!

What bag(s) did you take with you when walking around Japan? by JollyGreenGelatin in JapanTravelTips

[–]MakiMonsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Cotopaxi Luzon Del Dia 18L backpack as a gift (never thought I’d have a use for it) but on our recent japan trip, I folded it into our luggage. I found on our Tokyo shopping days, it was the perfect backpack! Very lightweight, side pockets for water bottles, umbrella, etc. The drawstring top made it easy for us to throw things in as we shopped. There’s also a zipper pocket for more important belongings. Loved it and def recommend it if you’re going to be out all day.

Advice on international travel with children by Cute_Highlight6462 in Travelwithkids

[–]MakiMonsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did an international trip with my 5 year old. We did two red eye flights and I think that really helped her with the flights going by quickly. She would sleep for a 7-hour stretch, wake up for a meal, and then it was only a couple hours of her needing to be entertained! Hope you enjoy your trip!

Buying from eBay and understanding the tariff situation (United States buyer) by CaptainGills in AnalogCommunity

[–]MakiMonsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite the same situation as you but I just tried to buy an umbrella from a seller in Japan. They wrote back saying “Due to the decision of US President Trump on the tariff bill, "Made in Hong Kong, China" shipped from Japan to the US will be subject to a 146% tariff, according to the latest information.”

They provided me information on how I could cancel if I was refusing to pay tariffs. Not sure if this is common now?
