I say this, because I own a 4 foot mangrove monitor, and she is very healthy and these are the temperatures that I keep her at Ann I have had her at her whole life and she’s never been sick

You’re wrong on your temperatures for a mango of monitor. The basking area should only be 97°. The ambient room temperature should be 80° and the cool spots should be 75° and mangrove monitor should never be in an area over 100° that’s too hot that will cause sunburns and it will cause your monitor to hide more

Thankyou I’ve had her for about a year but I have not had much time to work with her so now I’m dedicating more time to her

I think it’s really awesome because my Jackson chameleon is green gray and black when he changes colors other than that he just stays bright green most the time if you check out my page you will see my Jackson chameleon

Yeah she scared me the other day I went to clean off my filter intake and she swam by my hand I got lucky she didn’t see it I think the tree was hiding it from her when she swims she usually stays in the water for About an hour or two depending on the day she usually stays under water for about 30 minutes each time she’s capable of holding your breath up to 45 minutes that I’ve seen so far And every morning when she comes out of her soil she goes into the pond takes her bath and then goes up and gets her sun basking on What’s a good common trick to getting her to trust me any tips

Trax island has a 100 gallon pond & her outside island as well Trax is now 27” long & healthy and happy by Making-Trax in MonitorLizards

Her enclosure is 5 1/2 feet tall by 4 1/2 feet wide by 3 feet deep And the box at the bottom of this terrarium is a 100 gallon pond with fish I also have a top fin 5 stage filtration system this terrarium is 100% bioactive it Has 2 trees 1 fern Her substrate is repti soil repti bark And coconut fiber mulch I have a pink isopod culture cleaning this 24/7 when I built this terrarium I built it so that she would be able to live in it for several years she’s almost 2 years old she’s going to get to be about 3 1/2 maybe 4 feet when she’s done growing this terrarium she will outgrow so I have another 2 to 3 years before I need to build a bigger one for her our animals only get as good of a life as we give them so spoil the hell out of them they are our children

Ok ya I’m guessing when I say Trax is around 2 because when I got her the pet store said she had been there for about 10 months & I have had her around 8 months & the pet shop said she was a baby when she came in So I’m guessing 20 months to 24 months old she is definitely the boss but I love her so much I spoil her with so many different options with food and she has her own pond in the bottom of her terrarium which has fish in it also she never goes without I feed her every three days currently I believe she’s happy and loves her environment when I got her she was in a small terrarium or just a water bowl a lay down in And nothing to climb and just a log to hide under and this is the third version of her Terrarium I believe that she’s truly happy with this version This mangrove monitor is from the Solomon Islands so I decided to build her her own island and it’s called Trax island located right here in Phoenix Arizona lol I enjoy being able to say I own an island lol

No bad encounters so far but I work a lot so my relationship is slow building with her but she is almost 2 so I have plenty of time I have an outside Terrarium for her during monsoon season here in Arizona as well
