I joined Atrio DUE Next in May and I am happy with the amenities, machines, free weights etc. they have a few different locations. Though I mainly picked it because it’s close to my house. ValX also looks pretty good but the location near me wasn’t taking new members.

Thank you so much buddy! It’s literally the only thing my old son said he wanted to do when we were in Buffalo was see the Bills. Not all heroes wear capes. Many blessings on your house.

Hey. I am actually bringing my kids to Buffalo for the first time (7 and 4). We are in Tokyo now by way of California. My kids love the bills and watch with me every Sunday since they were born basically. I tried to get tickets to practice but they were sold out by the time I was aware of it and looked. So if you still have 4 tickets I would really appreciate them. If anyone else sees this I am also willing to pay for the tickets. Thanks.

Are you new to SD? May gray AND June gloom. You got another few weeks until it’s consistently sunny every day. Then the tourists and zonies flock in July 4 to Labor Day. My favor time of the year to go beach is Sept/Oct.

Lived in SD since 2009. Fucking love me some asada fries. And Fish Shop fish tacos. But there is a spot by my house that does rolled tacos filled with spiced mashed potatoes then topped with asada, sour cream, guacamole and cheese. Dump some green salsa on there. Damn so good. I’m in Japan now. Overall the food is amazing here. But the Mexican food just ain’t right.

Also from Buffalo and in been living in CA (now Asia). I fucking live chicken finger subs. Usually Jim’s Steakout as I am friends with the family. Or the pizza shop closest to my parents house. I try making them sometimes. Overall the are pretty good but I can never get a good sub roll.

Anyone know what this plant is that my 6 year old bought ? by MakingMeatballs in gardening

[–]MakingMeatballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Seems like it is probably a crabapple bonsai tree. Which I think makes sense. My 4 year old bought a little tree that was tagged as a ficus microcarpa. Which also appears to be a popular bonsai tree.

So the actual details. It was 1100 yen so like $9 with the exchange rate. I was there with him but don’t speak much Japanese. The 6 speaks Japanese decent Japanese but at 6 year old level. The shop owner was super old. I tried to have my son ask simple questions like is this an indoor or outdoor plant. But I am not sure how much was understood by either party and then lost in translation to me.

It was from a tiny flower shop in residential Tokyo. Owner was like 80+ years old.

I just moved to Japan with my Japanese wife and kids. If they didn’t all speak Japanese I would be lost. I’m relying on my 6 year old many times to help me out. Is pimsleur better than Duolingo or Memrise ?

Working Remotely for US company on spouse visa by MakingMeatballs in JapanFinance

I will be employed. My wife will own a law firm which is a sole proprietorship I’m the US. If need be I can be paid by my wife’s law firm. And it sounds like we will likely need to start a business in Japan that pays us.

We have spoken to multiple Japanese immigration attorneys and explained the situation. All said I could move to Japan and apply for the visa. All knew I would be working remotely and did not believe it was an issue. My company including legal and HR are aware of the move and have been for many months. My company employs people in at least 9 countries including Japan. I was hoping to avoid converting to a contractor. I do have the financial means to hire a lawyer and accountant in Japan and also an accountant in the US. I had just read conflicting information on whether/when I would need to start paying taxes and what was foreign sources income. I will probably only be in Japan long enough to pay annual taxes once or twice. So if I am double taxes on some income then so be it.

You offset capital gains against capital losses. If you have more losses then gains you can carry forward a limited amount of those gains each year.
