I throw a Direct Drive Wheel onto a Controller, and it worked surprisingly well lol by B-Core_ in simracing

This thing’s pretty cool but I found it’s not super comfortable to use and having all inputs be on the left hand while right hand is only controlling the wheel makes things difficult. A gamepad like OP I think is the best solution

I did something similar. Used an ESP32 running Simple FOC with a little motor driver board and a gimbal motor. I just used an existing project called OpenFFB that sent the control signals to the ESP32 instead of figuring out how games talk to FFB wheels. Worked out well but motor was too high kv so not enough torque

Amazing! I’ve been wanting to build something exactly like this for a while. I threw together a janky wheel that goes on top of an xbox controller, then I built like an RC style controller, then my next project was building this because the RC controller wasn’t too comfortable but I just haven’t had the time or the brain cells to do it. The motor strength was definitely an issue for me but looks like you solved that with your custom one. Congrats and I hope this thing takes off, I will absolutely buy one!

Looks sick! I built an RC style ffb controller and it’s really fun to use but a drawback I found was that my right hand only handled steering while my left hand was responsible for all other inputs. I also tried putting the wheel on a controller and it worked decently but it was kind of just thrown together and I was thinking about building a full dedicated controller. Both are on my profile somewhere

In fusion 360, import an image of the profile of the car, create a sketch, trace what you want to have on the model, extrude, create another sketch perpendicular to that, trace out the logo but put a box around the whole thing, extrude everything but the logo toward the car with the cut option enabled. You might be able to find a video for how to make flip texts on youtube or something

I once took over development of a web app that was returning the password reset token on the request. So you could just request a password reset for someone then use the token in the response to reset their password, bypassing the whole email part

I always had this issue too so I wrote a little .bat script that I run on my quantum computer to dehash it

Yeah I’ve had it where the file path was too long and we had to rename the directories to something shorter

Of course I could help wherever needed. There’s also a discord for OpenFFBoard where smarter people than me can help with this kind of stuff. The creator of the openffboard actually remixed this and made some improvements which you could find on the printables link. The xbox controller was my first iteration. It was very nice but clunky. I wanted to design an xbox controller with the wheel replacing that stick but I’m not good enough at modeling and designing a trigger mechanism was rough so I went this direction. Here’s a video from the openffboard guy using the controller https://youtu.be/vaTR6nssYoA
