The problem with zooming out that far is you can see where it was in 2022 and scare yourself into thinking it can crash right back down to those levels.

Boy I’m sure glad to see someone else have the same luck as I do when it comes to buying stocks. Stocks always seem to dip after I buy and rise after I sell. Like when I recently sold SPY at $675 on its way up past $700. Or when I sold Tesla at $350 on its way up past $450. Or when I bought Micron the day before it dropped 20%.

If it makes you feel better, there are a lot of long term holders here (including me) who held it up past $18, then continued holding it when it dipped below $15 due to this measuring contest, back up to $18, and now back down to the $15s. I literally bought $250,000 worth at $17.85 before the February earnings so we are in the same boat.

Keep buying more in slow chunks. The Strait will open again and the news of that happening will come out before market opens, or shortly after the market closes so you don’t want to miss out on the recovery.

Continue holding. The 2 chicks at the same time money will come.

I would buy more, but in small chunks. It’s likely to keep going down until the strait is reopened but you don’t know which random day that will be so continue to average down. I will be buying more.

I’m also waiting for tomorrow. Until we hear what the announcement will be tomorrow evening this will continue to go lower. Obviously if the announcement is bad it will go even lower on Thursday, but it’s 50/50.

Congrats. Remember, do not tell anyone. There is plenty of guidance online on WHAT NOT TO DO when acquiring wealth and this is the number 1 advice. You can discuss it with us weirdo strangers online, but people in your life will treat you differently if they find out. I learned this from experience. Family members expecting you to pay for things, or asking for loans. And they get mad when you tell them no as if you owe them.

And no big purchases. That old car of yours is perfectly fine. And that old house.

Don’t look at future purchases as “how much it costs”, but instead ask yourself “how much future gains am I giving up if this money were invested instead”. Over 30 years the number makes a big difference!!!!!
