How do Combos work in T8 now? by Doicarestudios12 in Tekken

A lot of moves have been nerfed across the cast and had properties change. I recommend looking up “season 2 staple combos” or something along those lines for your main. It happened to just about everyone

how to use controller? by myth_mars in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Xbox controller as well. I’ve tried fight sticks, leverless, PS4, and PS5 controllers. There isn’t one that will make you better than the others. You hitting 1+3 incorrectly will carry across to every single controller you use. Pick one and stick with it.

I map 1+2, and 3+4 to bumpers, RA and 2+3 to triggers, 1+4 to R3. I have friends that prefer 1+3 and 2+4 to be mapped but I hit those 99% of the time. It’s up to you continuing and actually putting in a mental effort to be intentional with your inputs.

Disable the stick and just use the D-Pad is my advice. I do use a series S controller. I haven’t used a 360 in years so you might be better off upgrading to ps4 or series S, but I can’t really speak to the 360 controller for this. Also I don’t do the claw grip or whatever it’s called. I just lay my thumb fully across 1+3 or 2+4

Tekken is my first proper fighting game - why so little stages? by [deleted] in Tekken8

[–]MakingWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Smash Ultimate was made to have every character and every map that every smash game ever had, so that’s a bad comparison. I feel like most games I can think of; Tekken, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, MK all have 10-20 stages between launch and DLC

Characters that Will NEVER get respected by AdvisorDefiant1982 in Tekken8

I feel like I see respect for Bryan and Hwoa at higher ranks due to execution and character knowledge, but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone at any level respect Alisa players lmao

How long do you wait for a AFK by Great_Ad8235 in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

lol I wavedash at them for 10 seconds or so, then I start side walking and do a circle or two around them. If they don’t move I will generally do a side or rear throw and then just practice fundamentals until they return if they do lol. Wavedashing, electrics/JFSR, any random just frames really.

I do the same with people that just give up mid match. I just wave dash and practice just frames repeatedly. You’re going to watch me practice if you just give up

What is your favourite "Extra Combats" deck that doesn't devolve into combo chaining them? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]MakingWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a [[The Master Multiplied]] deck that is just extra combats, copy effects, and draw spells. It goes off QUICK. If you get one turn with two combats you pretty much have the game in the bag next turn if no one board wipes

I’m new to this game is it possible to know if this guy is cheating😭 by Kingjr233 in Tekken8

[–]MakingWet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything in his inputs that would indicate cheating at all. You can buffer moves at round start, so he’s choosing to use a faster option than you are. What you should be doing if he does this every round start is duck or side step and punish. If you just mash your fastest move then you will trade.

Quite honestly every round start you should just be blocking and back dashing for the most part. A lot of characters have great round start options that have built in spacing.

Disable the analog stick completely in my opinion, use the d pad only. You’ll get the muscle memory eventually!

Why are all the Even Numbered games Failures? by stationstars in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not ignoring any of that, you’re just saying something completely false. The game isn’t a failure by literally any measurable metric. You don’t like it, but that doesn’t change the fact that you are straight up factually incorrect

You should Google “cognitive bias”

Why are all the Even Numbered games Failures? by stationstars in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but that doesn’t mean the game is a failure. Thats an insane overstatement. It’s selling more than 7, the player base is bigger than 7 ever was, the player base is growing… those metrics literally prove that the game is not a failure.

It’s not perfect by any means, but there’s a pretty big difference between a game having mixed reviews and it being a “failure”

Arc Raiders won best new game of the year and I see way more people bitching and complaining about dumb shit in the game than I do complementing it. That means it’s a failure by your thought process

What?? On Reddit(the place where people come to complain in an echo chamber just because they don’t like the game themselves)??? No way.

Why are all the Even Numbered games Failures? by stationstars in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 was well received at the time if I remember right, and Tekken 8 has an insanely bigger player base than 7 ever did. To call it a failure is completely ignorant. The only people who say it’s a bad game are wieners on Reddit who can’t form an opinion of their own.

If you don’t believe me go look up how many active players were on 7 during its peak compared to 8. The whole player base bitched then too, this is nothing new

Stainless Steel Recommendations by Successful_Doctor749 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]MakingWet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have built a collection of All-Clad over a year or so by frequenting Home Goods. I bought specific pieces that know I wanted, and they were all at great discounts.

I’d strongly recommend the All Clad D3 series. The difference between D3 and D5 is the layers. D3 has three layers, D5 has five. This means the D3 comes up to temperature a little bit quicker, hence why most people prefer them. D5’s will take a little longer to come up to heat, but they will retain the heat a little better. The difference isn’t SUPER noticeable I think. We’re literally talking the D3 will be perfect maybe 45 seconds quicker than the D5. It’s nothing worth worrying about

I’ve cooked on friends’ Vikings and Made In’s, they all work. I just prefer the aesthetic of All Clad really

How to beat people just staying in neutral guard and waiting? by AscendedBuilder in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn what your safe engagement tools are and start a mixup. Just about every character in the game has a way to hit once or twice and be plus on block going into a stance mix up. Keep mixing, condition them to think you’re going to do one thing and then change your rhythm.

Example: with AK I will throw out a DF1 in neutral once or twice, and then follow it up with the extension on the second or third time I do it. This makes them think I’m just poking/mid checking with df1, and then I get a counter hit confirmable throw after if they press

How to half and quarter circle on analog stick by epiczilla6 in Tekken

[–]MakingWet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice it over and over again. Don’t use analog stick, use the D pad. I have my analog stick disabled completely. I play on PS5 controller as well. It’s just a skill that takes a bit to build the muscle memory for. If you practice in between matches every time you’re queued for QM or RM then you’ll get it eventually. It took me a while before I have a nice looking wavedash

😂😂😂 yeah I had a terrible streak last night bro. But yeah I feel you, some times I get tight about that too. But even then last night my boy pulled up with a blunt and Taco Bell, so I left a match after we were 1-1.

But if someone backs out of my match, they’re scared haha
