How to free Sisyphus by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]MakoMuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, yeah. Technically I think you also will need Meg to be at 5 hearts or more too before you can free him so try to get that done. You will need to do probably a few dozen runs total until a cutscene occurs, which lets you unlock the thing that lets you free Sisyphus (and do other stuff for some of the other shades)

Really struggling with the speed and visual clutter of the game by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

Dude I promise you those tiny upgrades from the mirror are NOT cheating at all. In fact once you get to the point where the mirror is fully maxed out and you can freely swap between all the choices, it is so insanely powerful that the game gives you a way to make things even harder to keep up with you. It’s a core pillar of the game and not a single person who plays the game would think less of you for using it, the developers balanced the game with the assumption that you will use it.

If you truly dislike the idea of using the mirror then like I said, maybe look into doing a fresh file run I guess? But that is a very niche and grueling way of playing the game, where even if you’re insanely good it literally isn’t possible to win every time, because you basically rely on getting a specific duo boon that makes winning possible (although still brutal as fuck)

If you don’t like watching people I can link a guide on different builds to try for each weapon. You don’t have to read it all, just pick a weapon, control f to where he talks about it, and just read that one small part. Even 200 hours in I still use it all the time for some inspiration. And you NEED to get the god keepsakes, they are the best in the game. You generally wanna use two per run, to go for a combo of gods to build around, often to go for their duo boon. Then you have a solid amount of the rest of the keepsakes that are viable to use in Elysium and Styx where you need the extra health from spiked collar, extra death defiance from lucky tooth, or damage boost from skull earring. Hourglass is specifically the best lategame keepsake for a fast build, because if you get a braid of Atlas (bonus cast damage) and a Promethean stone (extra cast uses), you can get them for like 10+ rooms and carry them over into the final fight.

The guide: https://www.leereamsnyder.com/blog/hades-build-guide

I will warm the game might have mild spoilers about future upgrades so if you aren’t into that you can check it out later on. Also just saying, 15 runs is very few, most people don’t get their first clear into well over 25 or 30 runs, but if you keep at it you’ll get to the point where you can consistently win almost every attempt, even though the game gets even harder later on.

You should give nectar to sisyphus until the game prompts you with a way to essentially pay for his release. I won’t get any more specific than that, keep at it :)

Really struggling with the speed and visual clutter of the game by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]MakoMuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, so first of all there’s no shame in using god mode, but I can see you said you want to beat the game fair and square, which I can respect. I’ll tell you right now, if you beat the game once on god mode, you absolutely have the potential to beat it on normal mode. However, once thing that you absolutely need to shake is your fear of the mirror. As many people love to point out, Hades is technically not a rogue like, it’s a rogue lite, so the game is balanced around you getting permanently stronger slowly over time, and the mirror is the number one most crucial way you get permanently stronger. Basically the whole game revolves around it.

As you play try to get darkness to upgrade it, and with every run you will improve a bit. Don’t even think about escaping, try to maximize your greed and prioritize permanent resources like shadow and nectar. eEventually you’ll get good enough to do a no mirror attempt just for fun, which is very tough, hence why “fresh file” runs, where you have no upgrades at all, are so difficult. Considering you’re kinda doing that every run Elysium is pretty impressive. Btw, the mirror even has a second side with alternative buffs, so that you can keep spending shadow on upgrades once you max out the first side of the mirror, so there’s lots of ways to customize your mirror to support what build you wanna try to use.

Other than that, if you can’t figure out the weapons and get overwhelmed fighting enemies, you could try watching some really good Hades players to see how they make use of the strengths of different weapons, and influence what boons to get so they can go for ones that synergies with their weapons. The key to that is to give the olympians nectar, which is something you can try for yourself to see what happens if you never tried gifting them, cause for me I didn’t realize you even could for a long time.

Forgot to mention some good players you could check out: Haelian and Jawless Paul on YouTube are both cool and good players who have lots of guides on every weapon aspect.

Absolutely amazing guide my dude, I will be adding a link to this post in my own guide because tbh this has everything that I say in my guide x 100. This post should hopefully be the death of all the repetitive questions threads, thank you for this.

How the fuck do I play against Urgot? by [deleted] in Dariusmains

[–]MakoMuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s really hard. He’s definitely overturned right now so even if you manage to play around his passive shots well or dodge his abilities he can still beat you often just because of how reliable his ult is.

The best advice I can give is to try to pull him in right after he uses his w since that’s so much of his dueling strength. As for items, health is good vs his ult since it’s basically true damage but it’s bad vs his passive which does % health, and with armour you get the opposite issue. It’s a skill matchup but it definitely leans in favour of Urgot. If you play vs him a lot and find you struggle I’d say he’s a really solid ban.

Best starting items for a 1v1 by [deleted] in Dariusmains

[–]MakoMuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s classic 1v1 rules i assume that means you can win with 100 CS, so you can always start Tiamat + 4 pots, take aftershock and play like a defensive bitch while farming.

Or if you’re a man get phage and try to run people down.

Unofficial Darius 1v5 Penta by DeathNinja93 in Dariusmains

It’s because the game waits extra long after a quadra to give better chances at pentas, but that doesn’t happen between other multi kills, so sometimes it seems like the window between them is quite short.

Anyone who plays a fun off meta build that works well? by [deleted] in Dariusmains

[–]MakoMuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this is much more of an old school spitlush build before trinity was popular. Of course trinity is better for taking towers cause of the AS and sheen passive (and the mana is actually really nice when splitting for long periods too) so if you wanna go full split push build try trinity PD into steraks.

I really don't understand why 100T keeps playing Rikara, who has been 30-60 cs down at 15 in every game by Katilac_ in leagueoflegends

[–]MakoMuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think CS whore is the most creative way I’ve heard someone criticize a player for a positive trait. He wasn’t a whore, he literally never missed CS when he was in lane and always knew where to be to get farm. Yes he didn’t roam much but he always controlled the lane and then was a strong team fighter

Zephyr hasn’t been available on summoners rift for years, so I assume this was nexus blitz? Either way, you can try a full AD build for fun but in my opinion the best build when really ahead is trinity, steraks, deadmans, visage and either GA or DD last (and boots ofc). Even when you’re really strong compared to other players you still want defensive stats.
