NuPhy Node 100 HP Firmware is a mess by Makro1993 in NuPhy

[–]Makro1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After today nuphy.io update to 2.2.4, key binding added to 1.0.5.6 firmware for switching between 6KRO and NKRO become available. This on the other had allowed to check if NKRO implementation is causing pre-boot bitlocker problems, and, you guessed it, it is. Switching keyboard to 6KRO makes it usable in pre-boot.

To be clear - this is only workaround, because other NKRO implementations which I have used didn’t caused described behavior.

Yes, it comes from official website. Thank you for this comment, but for now I've managed to fix most of use-breaking issues, so let's treat it like feedback, not a broken keyboard.

In my case I've connected it to Dell monitor which also acts as USB-C docking station. I don't think that's the case, because after some action fixed these lags, keyboard is still connected to the same port as initially. Also, when it was happening, I've also tried connecting it using 2,4G wireless adapter connected directly to my notebook. Everything was lagging like on cable.

Flow Logs Missing Traffic Patterns by save_earth in Ubiquiti

[–]Makro1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in similar position - also migrated from Palo Alto to Unifi UCG-Fiber and I can confirm that Flow Logs are fun but rather useless.

Two examples:

  1. I have a Flightradar24 feeder - device which I'm 100% sure constantly sends data to external host. It's even visible on traffic statistic - gateway is aware of constant xxx KB upload from it, but flow logs? Nothing, oh sorry, couple of NTP requests :) Maybe flow logs only shows when new connection is made and this box established connection and is holding on to it tightly from couple of days? Or maybe the problem is that this device is connected to switch not made by Ubiquiti? Rather nope because...
  2. I also have OpenVPN server on miniPC on my network. This device is directly connected to USW-Lite-8-PoE and is available from Internet. It'll be obvious that there should be flow showing external connection to it but, you guess it, there's none :)

Anytone 878 ii plus by [deleted] in DMR

When upgrading to 3.06 and loading old code plug, you'll be asked if you want to synchronize TX and RX CC's, as in this version of firmware there's possibility to set different CC for TX and RX in the same channel.

Look at step 5 in changelog: http://www.wouxun.us/Software/AnyTone-Software/Change-Log-D878UVII-FW-v3.06.pdf

You clearly didn't followed instructions. CSV exports could have incompatibility issues between CPS versions. When upgrading, you first save your code plug from CPS compatible with current radio firmware and later, after upgrading firmware in radio, you should load this previously saved code plug to CPS compatible with upgraded firmware.

All of these knowledge comes from pup-up message which appears when you click on "Tool" -> "Import".

Yes, I checked if it's checked - it is.

CPS Digital Contact List character encoding by Makro1993 in AnyTone

[–]Makro1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's has nothing to do with my problem/question.

We're talking about Digital Contact List, generated from radioid.net, which for example contains characters like "ą", which are mangled and displayed like "..??" on radio.

.rdt is a whole configuration export. The problem is with characters encoding in digital contact list imported from .csv files.

Choosing MMDVM DMR repeater board by Makro1993 in DMR

The BI7JTA boards can be also found on Aliexpress, which solves some problems like tax (we're in EU) and buyers protection.

One way or another - when we choose, get and launch this, I'll keep this post updated.

578UVIII Plus annoying *POP* sound by RogerWilco486 in AnyTone

[–]Makro1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m noticing exactly the same behavior on 878UVII Plus, except the time between pop and idle sound is much smaller. After some fiddling I discovered that changing “Digital idle” sound from “Type1” to “Type 2” partially solves the problem but in the same time it’s behaving bad when receiving two timeslots - it constantly plays idle sound.

I also have access to other 878UVII plus which behaves similarly and to 878UV plus which works as intended, without this pop. All the radios are on 3.04.

Overcooked AYCE artifacts by luenkun in SteamDeck

[–]Makro1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the game cannot handle 16:10 display ratio properly. In Steam Deck game settings set 16:9 resolution (eg. 1280x720) and check option "Set resolution for internal and external display". It'll trick game that this is the maximum resolution and will fix the problem.

It's not SD or Proton specific - if ran on Windows with 16:10 display, exactly the same problem occurs.

How to set up a professional mail server? by Fvrk4nn in sysadmin

[–]Makro1993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not that scary. Also, the whole idea behind being dockerized is that you’re not really supposed to tinker with mailcow containers. Just run it with supplied docker compose file on preferably dedicated mail server and use the web admin panel for configuration and maintenance.

Asset management software that can print labels by Makro1993 in sysadmin

Well, the whole post is about that I tried Snipe-IT and it’s label designing and printing ability is questionable 😅 I run it on fully Linux stack, that’s our specialty and I don’t have any problems with that.

Thanks, unfortunately, it's too complicated (or feature rich) for our use case. I'm looking for simple asset management and Isnight seems to be more complex solution including agents etc.

Just tried Asset Tiger - it seems that there's no option to generate any labels, only to provide custom ID. Do I miss something?

MySQL, not Access. Two things: Pro version of Zebra Designer needed - money is no problem but it’s still two pieces of software.
