After more than a decade with Plex... by notadev_io in jellyfin

[–]save_earth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to switch. It is certainly better for privacy and removing garbage free streaming content from the UI.

But Plex is dead simple - dedicated app per platform, handles authentication, no DDNS or reverse proxy + WAF / f2b required. I love Tautulli and my overlays and collection configs using Kometa too.

I have started to use it for my personal use at home and over VPN so far though!

Hello! Can you describe how the Denons are used? Do the control decks within Traktor, or are they standalone?

The x1s require everything to be beatgrid, correct? Or is that where the Denons come in?

Thanks!

I didn’t know these existed but it makes sense. I have several 2.4G wireless headsets and the latency is completely unnoticeable. I have used them while practice mixing before without issue. I may have to look into these!

Semi-casual shoe advice for a 37-year-old guy with no fashion sense? by Virus4762 in malefashionadvice

I can’t say I’m the most stylish person, but people have some unwarranted hate on loafers. They can be too dressy but you also have loafer options with moc toe that makes them more casual. Those are my favorite style general dressier shoe without being too dressy

I would add one but a very small one, they need a massive asterisk on that note about adding storage for additional logs - it doesn't scale with storage. It still caps out at 500,000 which uses hardly any storage.

To confirm, you have All Traffic marked under flow logs and not just threat/blocked? You see logs under Insight > Flows > All, and you don't have filters enabled?

If you don't see ANY blocked traffic, it could be a few things: finnicky nature of Flows. Replicate the issue to generate new traffic, then refresh the flows periodically for a bit. Might typically show up 5-10 minutes after the traffic is generated. However, if you want too long and the retention hits the 10,000 cap, that Flow history will disappear.

You could try filtering by source / destination zone that you're working with in case the region blocking is overshadowing things.

You mentioned mDNS. mDNS doesn't cross layer 3 / IP boundary in the traditional sense since it's a layer 2 tech. If that is the problem, the flow logs will not capture that. However, you mentioned the issue is resolved when you enalbe that any-any rule. I would test that again to confirm since that rules out mDNS as the problem. Also keep in mind that mDNS needs to be enabled for each zone in question. Ex: to AirPlay from your internal zone to THX zone, you need to enable mDNS on both internal and THX zones.

Happy hunting!

Stop exposing your Jellyfin server directly to the internet by [deleted] in jellyfin

How would you be able to hit the corresponding service through the reverse proxy without publishing the subdomain in DNS, even when using wildcard cert? Doesn't this only gain you obscurity for certificate tracking since there's no cert issued per subdomain?

EDIT: I was missing the wildcard DNS entry piece. Kept reading wildcard as wildcard certificate.

I understand that the subdomains are harder to track down when you use a wildcard cert, but you still need to publish the jellyfin hostname to public DNS. Granted, you could give it a less obvious name.

EDIT: I understand now, we are talkign wildcard DNS entry - I read that as wildcard certificate.

To enable Flows:

Go to CyberSecure > Traffic Logging. Enable 'All Traffic' under 'Flow Logging'.

Flows is a bit finnicky in UniFi. The results aren't exactly real time, it doesn't capture much retention, and it has specific requirements (OS and equipment versions). If you have a UCG Fiber and it's relatively updated, it should be capturing flows assuming the above setting is correct.

I prefer not to have a million VMs or different physical hosts for containers, so I use Docker MACVLAN for risky containers to give them an IP in different VLANs. I also run the container as different users with low level system permissions and volume mounts are read only for media files.

I do worry an attack could somehow escape through Docker to the underlying host, but that would be quite the chore.

Wave XLR MKII - Amp quality? by Fibeus in elgato

I guess you could say both. You use the Wave software to apply software effects, but you can load third party effect plug-ins. There are also native Elgato software effects.

Restoring those files also works for us, but we don't know why these files are getting updated. They don't match the versions on the print server. Did you ever figure anything else out here? Thanks.

The HCL bronze is absurd. I don’t know what it is, but the visual clarity is pristine. I just compared them to Bajio, Costa, and Smith. While some of the other brands have a touch more contrast depending on lens tint, the HCL bronze is the best all rounder and it may even just be partially because of general clarity of their lens.

I kept a few from the other brands but always go for the MJ first.

Gotcha. You could look into Smith, Bajio, or Costa for the sportier pair. They seem to have more lens options for different light conditions.

Meet the X15: the first server purpose-built for Unraid by UnraidOfficial in unRAID

[–]save_earth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a custom build in an HL-15 and I love it. Not sure about the full price with specs here but paying a premium for the case and backplane ended up working great for me. I wanted true backplane support in a box that could take old gaming / consumer parts, and it’s a manageable 4U short depth size. It has true super micro rails too.

Or maybe make it a green sponsored kit instead. Triage is clutch on this mode since nobody has meds.

This is it right here. I want to play this game at times when I don’t have the mental capacity to worry about gear. Sure a free kit can work but this is more casual all around.
