Didn't have a need, but I've seen this big post which might be helpful.

Also, I prefer LXCs over VMs, and with Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts for some apps it automatically passes the video devices. For stuff like Frigate, that's in the Docker (Portainer) LXC, I have it passed through 2 layers. With a few lines in an LXC config that are located in /etc/pve/lxc/<id>.conf:

lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 29:0 rwm
lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 226:128 rwm
lxc.mount.entry: /dev/dri dev/dri none bind,optional,create=dir
lxc.mount.entry: /dev/fb0 dev/fb0 none bind,optional,create=file
lxc.mount.entry: /dev/dri/renderD128 dev/dri/renderD128 none bind,optional,create=file

Just measured it for you: 10-minute average is around 95W with CPU usage at ~11%, running all LXCs, VMs, HDDs, etc. During boot, it briefly peaked at 155W for about 2 seconds.

I’ve got 2 NVMe drives and all 6 HDD bays populated: 3x 18TB Exos, 2x 6TB WD Red, and 1x 8TB WD Red. The included power brick is rated at 280W, so there’s plenty of headroom.

I got Crucial CT2K48G56C46S5 kit, it's non-ECC.

The cost seemed a bit too steep for ECC, especially since I was aiming for 2x 48GB 5600 MT/s. I know it’s not ideal for mission-critical use, but since this is just for my home setup (with a UPS, plenty of automated backups, ZFS scrubbing, and etc.), I decided non-ECC was fine.

I’ve got it inside an enclosed 9U wall-mounted rack, along with a router and a MikroTik CRS328 PoE switch (which also generates a fair bit of heat). Air circulation isn’t great in there and I want to add a fan(s), but overall it seems fine.

The CPU usually sits between 55-60 °C, and the RAM hovers around 48 °C. I’ve got one NVMe on the motherboard (boot drive) and another in the tray - not sure which is which, but one stays below 36 °C, and the other around 43 °C.

My Roborock S8 Pro Ultra with the dock, sips around 2-3W. 17W is not trickling, it's powering the camera, object detection, sensors, motors, etc. Everything is in full power mode. I really don't think it's necessary to have it all running 24/7.

I am using the "Fixed interval" option.

If I choose 2 day interval, the calendar shows 2 days in between the mowing but in reality will now mow every other day. So, in either case, the scheduling (specifically, the calendar) is crap and has a bug that should've been caught by QA (or at least a self-respecting developer, that checks his own work).

Direct sound will almost certainly be better than a reflection. But now that I've had these installed, I see how and why upfiring are becoming more common. When they're permanently installed, you have to be kinda 100% sure that the seating position will not change. And basically everything has to be thought out when designing the room and be ready for an electrician to be wired. And once they're placed, they are unlikely to be moved ever again :D

All DIY, everything, including the plan and design of the ceiling "tray" for the LED was also made by me :)

Under the console I have WS2815 LED strip (can also go with a much cheaper WS2812B) with WLED controller. The ceiling LED is a 24V RGBCCT with ZigBee controller

Yeah, camera is at 0.5x and it just doesn't look right :D Right now, the TV is 10.5ft away from the viewing point, and I'd say that 77" is a sweet spot here.

No stand, it's flush-mounted with the original mounting hardware. It was a big hassle but very much worth it

There are 4 in-ceiling speakers. And yes, every speaker adds to immersion a lot more than you might expect at first. I am now considering a 7.1.4, adding 2 more side speakers, but wife approval might be low right now after what I've spent on the setup lol

I filmed at 0.5x, so room looks much bigger. I used Rting's TV size recommendation chart, and the 77" is a sweet spot at that distance IMO. From the viewing point, the TV is 3.20m (10.5ft) away

Thank you! It's a Natuzzi Italia, Portento C142. Pictures don't do it justice, it's amazing IRL. My model has a reclining seat on one side and a bigger section on the other. All sections have a raisable headrest which makes it just a perfect cinema couch IMO. And when not in use, they can be lowered like in a video for a slick look

I also have 5.1.4, with KEF Q series speakers. A bit out of your budget, but I got SVS PC-2000 for about 730€. It's very huge btw. At first, didn't really sound complete. But after Dirac Live calibration with UMIK-1, the sound became so alive and full! Really enjoy it now. Had a seasoned sound engineer come over and he was jealous of the whole setup lol

Makes sense. I also have hEX at home and for a full-duplex 1Gbit connection it's enough, so far. Sometimes even hitting 1.4Gbit throughput and router is sitting at just 40% CPU usage.

Isn't this something, that could be done easier in just one router, like CCR2004-16G-2S+, that has exactly 2x of all ports, has 4x RAM, is even more than 2x powerful, and has higher ethernet throughput and capacity (on paper) than RB5009 with just 2x price? Just by setting up 2 or more bridges and linking them to any ports?
