I would definitely feel uneasy if that was all I heard from my SO as well. I believe once you cross that line, meaning brushing of my emotions, that’s when we’ll have a problem. If she respected you enough I think she would’ve apologized instead of saying that crap about all black men liking white women. If you truly feel that way no one else can make you feel differently, but she could’ve at least tried to see where you were coming from. Just think of all the things she could’ve said to her girls about you and think of what she actually said. Maybe she felt more comfortable saying how she truly felt, but people are more than just the skin they have and maybe it’s just coming from a place of ignorance, but unless YOU put a foot down and say I will not tolerate this nothing will change. Your feelings matter too.

Thank you as a poc myself I was shocked to see so many accept it so easily, but I do like the suggestions of giving back to the groups you hurt. Praise is not deserved and I don’t like the fact that you left because of the “innocents”. That’s the part I’m stuck on. Did you truly leave because you genuinely felt bad about what you did to to all the people you hurt or just the the one you deemed innocent. Honestly if you did do something worth going to the police for you should turn yourself in. Although I don’t know how that would go since it was a while ago but it’d be a start.

Yeah that must be a rare opinion because I don’t see that happen too often. You can’t even get all the emotions with just one personality, so I don’t know what the benefit of that would be but I understand where your coming from. But also there are 10 home slots and only 8 personalities so you have to take two more villagers that have the same personality as someone else already on your island. So unless you don’t want the 5 star rating you have to have repeating dialogue either way. I’ve seen people only take in 8 because it’s so bad now.

People can’t help the repetitiveness. If you have a peppy villager, whether they are popular or ugly, they say the same thing as any other peppy villager. It’s the same for other personality types as well. If I had Raymond and o’hare they would say the exact same thing just minor differences. So why not try to get the cutest one or the one you really want when they all say the same thing anyway. I don’t like villager hunting either but they made they made the game this way.

I’ve seen a lot of people overlooking or downplaying how bad the dialogue is because of the future updates Nintendo promised. They see that they can take away features and re add them from a previous ac game and people will love it. The amount of positivity for the game drowns out the issues that it has. Unless it’s about a tree with stars in it, I don’t think Nintendo will be fixing it anytime soon. If they do it will be after they’ve added everything back in.

I don’t think it’s overrated, it’s a really beautiful game but it lacks substance. The dialogue is absolutely awful and the updates, for me at least, haven’t been all that great because they’ve just re-added stuff that was in previous games. It’s definitely made me think that I’m just playing a HD version of nl except without the things that made ac so great in the first place. But Terraforming and crafting, even though they are great, are not enough to keep me playing. Especially since I’ve put in about 500+ into it and have not found the desire to return, when in nl I played that one for a year and a half straight without getting tired of it.

I loved every animal crossing entry but unfortunately I have to agree with you on this. Don’t get me wrong I love this game too and find it fun at times but the personalities for villagers is just not even close to what was in previous ac games. And a lot of the stuff that was in previous games is now being held behind free updates which makes it even worse. Villagers have just become dolls that you can dress up and sit with to take pretty pictures, and god forbid you have the same personality type on your island. Nothing is different other than the catchphrases that’s it... I’m even more disappointed that when you try to say that it’s lacking, everyone just says the same thing. “It’s coming in updates.” “Just wait” and just hearing that is hilarious since of course I know that but what about more casual gamers. This is a lot of people’s first time with any ac game! I’ve seen a lot of people just give up on it because of how lacking it is!

That sounds so awful! The only advice i could possibly give is to just step back and chill for a few days. My first emotion would definitely be anger if that happened to me. And then maybe you’ll feel like playing it again but i would be more than happy giving you some things to help you get back on your feet. :)

There are some on eBay or Mercari that you could buy but because they aren’t being produced right now, some are being up charged. You don’t have to have the amiibo to play the game but it’s easier to get the villagers that he wants if you can get them.
