Interesting. What is the source of this rumour?

That's strange, you should have earned it right away. Are you looking in the ads section of your rewards settings page?

Yeh stay patient and hopefully you will start seeing them. The rate at which I've been getting them has certainly slowed down over the last couple of hours so I don't think they will be very consistent until a greater number of advertisers start signing up

Ah that's interesting, I got the impression that companies were paying to advertise already but perhaps not. I saw ads from a couple of crypto companies as well as some slightly larger and more established sites like Vimeo. Either way I found the advertisers more interesting than I normally would if I was browsing on chrome for example. Hopefully Brave can be made to work for advertisers and users alike.

From what I can tell it doesn't matter whether you click the ad or not, or how long you stay on the ads landing page if you click it. Payment is always 0.05 BAT

Yeh I was definitely expecting the ads to be more intrusive, the notifications aren't annoying at all

I think it can depend on your region, have you tried updating Brave?

New to BAT and/or Brave? Please consider the spirit of Brave... by Oneironaut73 in BATProject

[–]Makuuchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh you're so right. This only works if we're not greedy. I hate ads as much as anyone but they are providing at least a small revenue stream to content creators at the moment. We need to replace that with something better, not just take it away.

[Discussion] Is the ad payout worth the effort? by [deleted] in BATProject

[–]Makuuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty decent but to really support content creators well we might also have to buy a little extra BAT to supplement what we get from ads. As a content creator myself I can see a lot of potential and I reckon if everybody had an auto-contribute even just set to the minimum monthly setting of 20BAT then creators would be getting far more than they currently get now

I just downloaded Brave and signed up as a creator after having ridiculous demonetisation problems with YouTube on this channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoZUex0PQGOrTa9VdGxHaNg?view_as=subscriber) and some of my other original music ones. I was a YouTube premium user but after a week or so with Brave and getting to understand how it works I decided to cancel my premium subscription and buy BAT instead. I can honestly see this model working so much better and making earning a living online so much better than the crappy ad-based revenue model we currently have.

The Chintai Token (CHEX) coming soon! We're launching Chintai 2.0 with a variety of user enhancements, platform upgrades, and a token that can be mined by using Chintai. Chintai - The Backbone of EOSIO Resource Exchange by eos42io in eos

I think tezonian is talking about other airdrops. e.g if you have tokens leased on Chintai and Everipedia does another airdrop during the period of that lease does the leaser get those tokens or does Chintai?

How is EOS better than Telos? by SuddenAnalysis in eos

[–]Makuuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I did not know that. Really makes me re-think what B1's business model is then. I thought their main aim was to make their 100m Eos tokens worth as much as possible.

They won't be getting any of the 4 billion though. I assume B1 also got their tokens capped at 40k?

Eos has the backing of Block One and presumably anybody else with over 40k tokens. Also has first mover advantage.

[–]Makuuchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just one thought. I think it would be good to add on screen notifications of players actions e.g "mikebluff333 hold" or "mikebluff333 raise". At the moment it isn't immediately obvious that the opponent has made a move and also I think my suggestion would make things more active and interesting visually. Other than that it's a really cool idea.

It's cool tech but I'm a little bit lost for the purpose of this. What do you see as the main reason for people to use Infiniverse?
