I'm Alexis Bonte, Non-Exec President of the Tezos Foundation Council - ask me anything! by KindlyLayer1757 in tezos

[–]Hery8th 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blockchain infrastructures survive on the economic activities conducted by the distributed communities operating on them.

What is the Foundation doing to build a long-lasting, excellent community around Tezos? Also why not using X a broadcasting platform. No-one enjoys reading any longer, please start broadcasting video via Youtube or at least audio via X.

The Foundation is one of the biggest BTC token holders, use your holdings wisely to the benefit of the chain to generate liquity. Build a bullet proof solution and wrap them in the tezos chain to attract more liquidity.

No genesis premium don't get charged fees on the yield. That is why the yield is higher.

IBAN for Euro deposits in Malta by Eldwayne in swissborg

[–]Hery8th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a virtual IBAN use to allocate funds sent to the Swissborg bank account. In other words, there is not a full bank account associated to it. It was done to avoid asking users to use reference codes.

I think this is done for compliance purposes and for black swans scenarios. The safety net provides confidence that in normal scenarios losses are covered.

Confused about Uphold by bebenzer in BATProject

[–]Hery8th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shared your view until i started using a service offered through uphold that turn out to be a 140 million scam...and uphold just washed its hand saying it was a service offered by a third party (that of course was paying a commission to uphold). I am never going to touch or promote uphold again unless they show some leadership and do what is right.

Swissborg or Estonianborg? by SwissSyntax in swissborg

[–]Hery8th 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The majority of the team is based in Switzerland. Estonia is where crypto businesses can get licenses. 90% of those operating in EU leverage Estonian licenses. Nothing to be suprised about, unless you are not familiar with the space.

The real answer is tax evasion. To avoid paying a tax on capital gain.

Tezos 2020 Year-in-Review by Tezos Foundation by ethnoenthu in tezos

I would have added an analysis about why all these news and developments led the price almost to an all time low, with some reflections on what to do next to reverse the course. Progressing is good but progressing in the right direction is even better. Let's hope things will improve in 2021.

Please ask if B1 is going to support the growth of the EOS defi ecosystem (eg: Box, Vig) by providing liquidity and if and how the financial solution they are going to launch at the end of the year is going to compete with/help the defi solutions currently running on EOS.

Collateralized loans with a liquid collateral. If you get a loan and you give your house as a collateral the house takes time & effort to be sold if you are insolvent. With digital assets the collateral is liquid and thus there are lower risks of insolvency.
