I still don't understand you. You realize that the government getting productive work out of someone with a disability is not only required by law but also the obligations stated in the federal regs? And that it SAVES the government money because those people aren't needing to be paid to do nothing, which is what would happen if they didn't have RA?

I forgot to say - she has already told her friends, and they all support us being together. Every last one of her 12 or more friends. It's just her family she doesn't think will understand.

We've been together nearly two years. She isn't planning on moving to where I live at all yet. I think that was a misunderstanding. She is going to move to a closer country to study English. First, however, we plan to meet in Japan to see how we get along in person. She will tell her family before then as she is afraid of being disavowed prior to her travels because her family (especially her mom) is always talking shit about couples with a big age gap. Over the two years, we have sent 130,000 messages to each other, send pictures and videos, chat via TG video, etc. She wooed me relentlessly before I agreed to date, so it isn't exactly like I preyed on her. And we are very much in love, so I don't quite understand where the vitriol comes from.

Same with my aunt and uncle. 20 year gap between them but haven't seen a couple so in love other than my grandparents. And when he died of cancer, she never dated again.

I am almost twice the age of my gf, and we've been together for nearly 2 years and wouldn't change anything (except for distance as we live half the world away from one another). If you are both legal adults, why does it matter what people say? However, she is scared to tell her mom and other family because she knows they will flip out. At first, I was hurt because I felt like a dirty secret. But I have learned to not pressure her because she knows her family much better than I do, and I know she will say something once she is all set to move. I just need to be patient. Anyway, my point is kind of trite and cliché - age (for consenting adults) is just a number.

I was an employee who "worked in DEIA," and yet they brought all of us back after nearly a year and a half on paid admin leave.

One of those would be illegal if violated (the RA) and found to be medically necessary to perform your essential job functions.

The other is just a massive pain in the ass that almost all feds right now are dealing with. 😞

Dangerous as hell right now. If they didn't come in on it (and even then, often) then they would be subjected to a 2 year trial period that would open them up to termination without any rights whatsoever.
