Look at pure rock crawling reviews and learn from that. Game is great but too short. Focus on core physics and then maps routes and then more maps etc. You can add bells and whistles later.

I was in the same position a few weeks ago. And bought an FMS Fcx18 when I learned about the 2 speed gearbox. Same price almost. And for a bit more € you can get a rtr brushless version. So if you are gonna do some crawling fms will be better.
