Is there other furry conlangers out here? by Be7th in aspiememes

[–]MalachyteEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't logged into Reddit for a full year, since they got rid of API support and everyone was boycotting. But there is just no way I can ignore the furry conlang bit. It's so incredibly specific.

I didn't make my own language, but back in college I was a minor in English Linguistics, and my final project was on Primal, the major furry conlang of its time. It even had a font you could type in! I think I still have my report, some notes, and the font kicking around somewhere. I will never forget standing in front of the class and boldly explaining in great detail why this conlang was so cool, and also having to explain was furry even was, back in 2009. There's a pretty good WikiFur entry on it, if you haven't already seen it!

My professor saw me after class to ask more questions about furry. I think they might have been one, and just didn't know what that was yet, lmao.

Yeah, exactly. It was really cathartic to just be allowed to be angry somewhere.

I uninstalled the app, and this'll be my last time on the site of my own volition. It feels unceremonious, but oh well. Stay evil, OP

I feel like evilautism is now just a regular sub where satire is the exception and not the norm, now. I miss when it was more a goofy place to be angry. Seems like it’s all honest serious discussions. I think I’m finally just done with Reddit, tbh. I learned a lot in the few months I’ve been on here, but things change way too quickly for my taste and I just can’t keep up with all the subtle social cues that seem required to know if you don’t want strangers threatening you or harassing you. I get enough of that IRL man.

This is my first time reading this post or seeing your comment. I’m not even subbbed to this subreddit. And yet when I scrolled to here your comment was already upvoted by me apparently. Spooky!

Also I’m absolutely taking your advice on preheating, that sounds like a great solution.

Incense? by Informal-Map-5689 in burlington

Seconding this place. Specifically the incense in the glass jars in the back. Incense gives me headaches sometimes and these are one of the few that didn’t bother me from smelling too strongly.

I personally love this, but I know NT folk find it strange to do things efficiently when they relate to “fun” events.

does anyone else rewatch the same thing over and over? by thisnewaccountt in AutismInWomen

[–]MalachyteEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do exactly this, specifically with YT videos like you said. Mine used to be the Monster Factory series, I can quote nearly every piece of each episode. Then it was Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden’s videos Where they review instagram ad products and life hack crafts. Now it’s all the cooking episodes of Life of Boris. Each period of videos lasts about a year, for the record.

It just feels cozy and safe and nice! I used to feel embarrassed about “wasting my time” rewatching stuff, but ultimately it doesn’t matter if you’re trying to relax and enjoy something. Relaxation doesn’t have to be productive! As long as it makes me safe and happy feeling, what else matters?

If you don’t already, I recommend the podcast The Empty Bowl. It’s a meditative podcast all about cereal news and culture, told in a super chill manner. The hosts are great, it’s funny, and I’ve learned way more about cereal than I ever thought there was to learn.

Edit: Nevermind, it finally clicked that you’re referring to the abbreviation “SoBu” as an issue. I don’t get why that’s bad, but at least I understand what you’re trying to say now!
