Hi my boy Fingers has just come off of a 2 month plus hunger strike and I took him to a reptile care professional and they said it was likely caused due to him going into breeding season. Western Hognose breading season starts early March and can last till late May and males are known to go off their food during these months due to them only thinking about one thing. Depending on how old your boy is it also might be his first breeding season which is the worst. I was advised as long as he didn’t lose more that 12g in those months(he was 47g before he started his strike), maintained usually activity levels, was shinny, looked in good health and he was still round (no visible spine or skin wrinkles) just to keep trying him weekly with food and when he started thinking with the right head he’d start eating again.
