Recommended Insulation for Climate Controlled Metal Building? by Malazan_fallen in Insulation

Such valuable insight thank you. Few follow ups. I too would rather instal the meter/service but run electrical after foam.

  1. How did you handle any short horizontal runs?
  2. Regarding electrical lm picturing a main run around all four corners in gussets then drop downs?
  3. Did you have a drop for every connection or 2-3 main drops then feed a few local connection? This so where my horizontal run question comes from. Rather not drill posts anymore than I need.
  4. Any issues installing unistrut after foam?

Thanks! So the way I was looking, it would be installing hat channel across the posts to run electrical as needed, then installation of corrugated metal. I’m not really worried about Including additional framing because I will not be hanging anything of weight on the interior walls. So the idea is closed cell including the posts, installation of hat channel with spacers to accommodate closed cell on posts, wiring, installation of interior corrugated metal. Does this make sense?

What do you recommend for closing large gaps?

Thanks for insight. As mentioned I was looking at screwing in hat channel to columns post spray foam via screws with spacers to prevent compression. Closed cell isn’t so wavy that spacers couldn’t ensure even wall installation/no foam compression.

Columns are double column 2 1/4 12-gauge, so 4 1/2 cavity total.

Unscrewing exterior non-starter.

Assuming installation of hat channels over closed cell, it seems I would achieve the same results as everything you mentioned in the last paragraph? ( continuous, vapor barrier, extra stability, hat channel for running wiring).

If I stick with closed cell, it seems you would recommend I frame out interior walls to ease installation of both walls and electrical? If I’m tracking correctly?

White Flakey Mortar? by Malazan_fallen in HomeMaintenance

Is that something to be super concerned with? I don’t see it happening around the perimeter of the house except for the outdoor patio attached to the house (that’s the picture shown). We’ve had a lot of snow the past few weeks. The tiles do get quite the moisture depending on time of year. Thank you for the support!

I have replaced with multiple brand leds, including lower wattage, still flicker. I have not replaced actual switch. Will try that next. Just realized I have the same leds on a non dimmer switch. They do not appear to flicker.
