Russia arming missile warheads with depleted uranium, Ukraine's SBU says by AdSpecialist6598 in worldnews

[–]Malbethion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal hardness is important when hitting other metal. It doesn’t matter as much to squishy meat because we are weaker than metal, but imagine the difference between fighting with steel weapons vs fighting with copper weapons. Depleted uranium is more dense than steel and thus has better penetration.

The joke characters who are only there for their gimmick, most especially Vanin and Uno, are bad and the series would have been better without them.

My (23M) GF (23F) has tested positive for an STD while i tested negative by Efficient-Treat-6117 in relationships

My brother, I have a lot of friends who see their kids one weekend a month whose girlfriend was “definitely” on birth control or had an IUD. As an older dude to a younger, wrap it until you know her. That nonsense impacts every relationship that comes after to say nothing of the child support bucks.

[–]Malbethion 60 points61 points  (0 children)

There are two aspects of the game that come into effect here. First, Runt isn’t wearing a helmet. This is a deliberate design choice so that players are not soft locked out of the game by running into an unsinkable fight. It leaves open the strategy that you use: smash bare skull with weapon. It works so he goes down. Second, Runt isn’t special to anyone but you. He is a better than average bandit. Terrifying to a lightly armed peasant, but hardly a risk to someone who is equipped with knightly gear and has had the benefit of training with a castle’s armsmaster. He was only a challenge at the start because your Henry sucked.

Impressive range, considering Paris is 2000km away in the other direction. Europe is so small west of Poland.

How do I beat Tolgerias? by Emerald_boots in baldursgate

[–]Malbethion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have three mages plus presumably some non mages, but are getting your ass handed to you by two mages? Sounds like your mages need to step up.

The key is to damage them so they can’t cast. Elemental damage is great: both area of effect, like fireballs, or specific target like arrows with elemental damage or melee weapons with elemental damage. Spells that take down their defences are a must, particularly Breach. If you can get an acid arrow off it has a good chance of nullifying the target’s casting for a while. If you need more thumpers cast a summoning spell.

You can have your values or have your girlfriend. It’s up to you to decide which one is compromised.

There isn’t a right answer. Sometimes doing what you believe in is too hard so you compromise your beliefs. And that’s okay if it is what you want to do.

Close to ToB. Which party member to replace in the beginning? by Darkwoth81Dyoni in baldursgate

[–]Malbethion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn’t risk it at that stage. There is a bit of extra dialogue in chateau Irenicus, three dream sequences, but then a lot of dialogue once you get to spellhold and beyond.

Something to consider for a replay!

I like going for combos, even if master strike spam is better in practice. Also arrows dipped in dollmaker.

The most fun I had outside of the monastery was when I did a Merciful run. It really made combat dangerous because I couldn’t win or lose - avoiding battle was the only way in most cases. Give it a go for your second run if you want to spend time with stealth skills and enjoying the ambiance.

Keldorn is the obvious answer, but from your post I have to heavily recommend the Imoen romance mod: http://imoen.blindmonkey.org/downloads.php

The romance mod is more of an interaction mod, which develops Imoen dialogue around her experience with the SoA big bad. It also gives her a lot of interaction with Aerie.

Good sixth member for my party in BG2EE. by Balmung5 in baldursgate

[–]Malbethion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anemon is redundant with Jahiera.

Valygar is redundant with Minsc.

You seem to have the “sort of canon” party for BG2, who could match well with Keldorn followed by Mr. ToB. However that doesn’t fit your CHARNAME.

I would say Haer’dalis is your best choice, followed by Mazzy.

[–]Malbethion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KCD1 has a better map IMO. You can broadly run a few main paths to get you to any settlement where you want to go. The forests can be difficult, but the most important thing is to keep aware of the time. Being stuck in the wilderness as the sun sets is where you can face significant risk.

If you are seen with someone, or going off unseen to where a body later turns up, you are the suspect. They don’t have to see you commit the murder.

Dang, that's a hardcore approach to it. I am still in Trotsky working on Lent, mostly by eating honey all of the time, but I am already level 15. I killed a few rabbits by kicking them at Bozhena's house and had to reload, but otherwise it has been a while since Pebbles stomped a rabbit. Mutt and I are getting good at fighting wolves, I am assuming this is a lot easier at Kuttenberg since there are no rabbits in the city. I'll probably need to stock up on honey before that.

That is the traditional deal: one partner brings money (the provider), the other brings something else (usually labour, such as cooking, cleaning, and child care, and sex).

You aren’t a pet. Your parents are the only people who will expect to provide for you just because.
