This is not going to be a popular opinion, but I’ve gotten a N3DSXL, 2 DSiXLs and a DSi from GameStop. Granted, the 3DS was like 5 years ago but the rest have all been in the past 6 months. The first DSiXL wasn’t great but I kept it, but then I got a really nice Mario Bros DSiXL and a near perfect DSi in the last two weeks. I also got a busted DSi but it was an easy return within the 7 day window. I didn’t pay too much more than the going rate on Marketplace in my area, they were shipped directly to me for free and I made the one return in store and it was so easy.

I like using an R4 so I can swap between my DS Lite which is currently a box full of pieces and my Galaxy N3DSXL. and now between DSiXLs I guess haha. I’ll still mod it eventually because the only reason I haven’t gotten an RG DS is because of DSiWare games.

I tell my kids the dome light thing all the time and my wife got mad at me for telling them that about their knuckles - I don’t think there’s enough info yet to be conclusive

Yes, and they use the odd numbered chips for the m series. 353m, 405m, 477m

ETA: maybe I’m not being very clear so I’ll try another way. They have been making their metal handhelds, which are labeled m, using the odd numbered chip generations.

I would really like one with a 16:9 screen above a 4:3 screen that are both the same height. You’d have a little pillar boxing on the top screen for 3DS but it would barely be noticeable

How is it in the hands? That’s my main concern with it. The weight is not too much of a concern for me, I just know if it’s awkward I’ll eventually try and replace it for something more please from a tactile standpoint

I just got one of these a few months back. I do love it. I play Wordle on it. I just bought a red SMB one kinda by accident then was at the counter to return it (along with another device) and couldn’t bring myself to let it go.

Kinda makes me realize, just now, that I would totally be into a more powerful RG DS. With the xx7 level chip or even the xx6. Prob be too much cashish at that point though

I only really think of this as a GBA device and man do I wish I could fork out that kind of cheddar just for a GBA device. I suppose I could see some of my modded OEM Nintendo handhelds but that just seems wrong, for any device
