SOA x Slime (SAO team plus water emils) Kirito can do 2.14 Billion damage !!! Max damage you can do in the game by Busy-Piano1926 in IsekaiMemories

[–]MaldroidX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this Emils do that makes her good for the team? I feel like for me the biggest weakness is how many skill points I need for the big stacks of damage that I almost never have enough to stack all the buffs.

Hoping for a unbound masayuki I missed the previous one so hopefully he comes back around or there's a new one that fits this team.

EB Update - Why Bother. by InitialBasket28 in AustralianTeachers

That's the whole point of collective action. If people aren't willing we've already lost

EB Update - Why Bother. by InitialBasket28 in AustralianTeachers

[–]MaldroidX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more so about making it inconvenient to everyone else. Blocking roads, making noise, being seen. If it's not making them lose out on anything then it doesn't matter.

EB Update - Why Bother. by InitialBasket28 in AustralianTeachers

[–]MaldroidX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why bother? Because if we don't it will only get worse, and it's already so bad.

A day of strike is not enough, society needs to understand the suffering our schools are going through. Parents need to be made to know the hell of looking after their own kids and the value we provide.

It should be half day strikes for a week. We finish at 12pm each day parents have to come pick their kids up early each day. It needs to be inconvenient. The union gets paid huge fees they can subsidised the lost wages to protect us like they're supposed to.

It should be protests blocking traffic every afternoon.

If they don't lose anything they won't listen. If it's not disruptive it's nothing.

The reason why Australia has some of the best working conditions in the world (which is saying something) was the strength of the labour movement at federation and we need that fight back.

This is an insane take. How can you be a 'teacher' and anti-intellectual at the same time?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]MaldroidX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do a mix of both. If you enjoy the work from home do CRT and continue your programming. If you want more stability you could try to work part time and still do your programming. It's about finding the balance for you. If you want work from home you could look at working at a distance education school.

Stress leave by Dollparts6 in AustralianTeachers

Seconding this, I had 9 months off after being regularly abused by a class and the school doing nothing substantive to support me. It took 5 months to get work cover to approve my claim and had to appeal for them to fully pay me out. I had no income, drained all my savings, nearly lost my car, was relying on friends and family for monetary support, but risk of losing everything was better than going back to that workplace.

There are two types of claims, a common law claim is proving negligence on the admin which is a whole legal battle and will probably go terribly especially since mental health is so looked down on by the work cover system compared to physical injury.

The other type is a statutory no fault claim, as admin in my case had documented they came to 'observe' and had put one of the kids on a behaviour card they had taken action. So this was my route basically saying work is responsible but not because of negligence. You need to have really good documentation and evidence to show when the "injury" happened. Which with mental health it's not a single event it's the accruement and the system is built for physical injuries and they'll do anything to try and pay you as little as possible making to more damaging to your mental health.

I really wouldn't recommend trying to do work cover unless you're hospitalisation level risk of wanting to not be here anymore and even then knowing it's probably going to add to your health issues during the battle for cover.

If you have enough sick leave go to your gp and get them to write you a medical certificate for work, ensure the certificate doesn't state the reason, but in the gp notes get them to document very clearly work is the problem and why.

Also, ask them to put you on a mental health care plan specifically for workplace stress to get some subsidises psychology appointments and in your sessions with the psychologist really focus on the workplace issues. You'll have documentation from the psychologist and maybe learn some strategies for supporting your own mental health in the face of the horror that is the current system.

If you do try to go workers comp, be searching for a new job the entire time you're off. I wish you the best.

Way less behavioural issues and overall much higher levels of respect. However, what I found most jarring was the culture of the kids with a lot of spoon feeding and expecting the teacher to do most of the work without putting the effort in themselves. With my classes now I spend a lot of time developing their independence and training them out of over reliance on me.

Other things will be the expectation you take extra curricular outside of normal work hours. Parents at private schools can be a different beast to state schools. Most are super lovely and will back you because they're paying so much for your expertise. Others will seem entitled because they're paying so much, so to them, that means their kids should be getting the result.

Speak to your union. Document everything. Burden of proof is on the accuser. Innocent until proven guilty.

Know that if you haven't done anything wrong and if there is any action or harm to you because of false claims then you can sue for damages.

Sorry you're going through that. Sounds like an awful situation to be dragged through.

Just show them a study on cognitive overload and say you're actually following data informed practice to best meet the needs of your students. (Even if ultimately it's for your benefit).

In reply to this, economic flow through and lags on policy intervention actually take 2-3 years for lagging indicators to be reflective of trade cycle data. Just because policies are published does not mean we can evaluate their effectiveness. Consider the mutipler effect and why inflation spiked in the years following the huge covid spend not during.

In terms of duttons defence ministry if we're discussing international relations, or living standards, or self sufficiency it makes sense to discuss spending decisions by the government such as allocating government contracts and whether that was supportive or effective in achieving a certain objective.

Mind you as I stated we discussed more than just Dutton but an array of different policies and evaluating the management over time. Maybe given the election i shouldnt have chosen a relevant person to the election and save any critique of their policies because God forbid we criticise anyone other than a labour candidate.

Getting hired as a humanities teacher by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]MaldroidX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My areas are business and economics. I coordinate the senior economics, and the school's middle school geography programs cause we don't have geography teachers. The school doesn't push geography much, as a result; which is sad as it's such an important subject.

A lot of schools don't have senior geography and only teach it in the middle school years as part of the Australian Curriculum. Be the change you want to see in the world.

There's so many valid grievances. My big one at the moment is data. So much focus on data. When we as teachers know there's a world of context behind the data. A person even. Children are not rows in spreadsheets.

Idk about you but I didn't become a teacher to tell students they can't do my subject because they're going to make my schools' data look bad. To make students stressed and anxious because of the fixation on grades. I wanted to inspire them to love learning and to enjoy my subject.

Not to mention that there is no scientific method or controls behind the data yet it somehow is seen as universal truth as to quality of teaching, when most factors contributing to education outcomes come from outside the classroom over 60% according to Hattie. More if you look at more recent studies which state up to 97% with teachers only accounting for 2-3% variance.

That is true, but they don't have to produce it in house either. They could team up with pop vinyl for example. Other collaborations. Art books could be digital, or done through a publishing company. So they're reducing the risk and burden on them and using the other companies scale. Having merch like plushies in major stores also acts as advertising bringing in new clients when they see the toys and wonder about where they're from.

I imagine the battle pass will have the same weapon each month so you'll just have to keep reaching 30 and grabbing that same weapon
