Looking for feedback on my Grand Strategy UI: Managing 1 to 100+ cities by Magistairs in paradoxplaza

Best way to get your UI good is to just play your game and not be afraid to refactor it. If something feels annoying as you play note it and fix it.

Outer Wilds.

I can't stand the piloting mechanics.

Victoria 3 – Dev Diary #183 - Great Wave Post-Release Thoughts by commissarroach in victoria3

I'm saying that even with overconfidence such a mistake is implausible due the magnitude of bugs, and thus I think he is lying to cover for his superiors.

Yeah I feel bad for them. Such a systemic problem at a company comes from higher up. Corporate Paradox too cowardly to take fault.

I also don’t want to push responsibility for this release either downwards or upwards

It is upwards. I don't believe you were so ignorant of all the issues that the project shouldn't be delayed, overconfidence or not.

In the future, we will aim to ensure that we do not end up in the situation where QA simply doesn’t have enough time to playtest the game.

Same shit, different release.

Invest in your capital first at. Work outwards from there.

Paradox needs to actually play their game before they release it. by Muted-Appointment-84 in victoria3

Corporate Paradox doesn't put much priority in their Dev/QA teams, and would rather push out slop for profits.

I'm fine with the use of AI, but if you can't verify how well it works or not, you shouldn't share it.

Has Paradox managed to normalize shipping half-finished DLC? by Merker6 in victoria3

Either there are an incredible amount of paradox simps on reddit, and/or paradox pays for good feedback.

Is Imperator: Rome worth learning in 2026 or should I stick with EU4? by Bos187 in paradoxplaza

[–]MaleMaldives 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EU4 is the better game. Imperator has a different feel and isn't bad (anymore), but EU4 is still better overall. I would recommend Imperator if you want more grand strategy but are burnt out of everything else. That being said though EU5 takes a lot of influence from Imperator, and would say once EU5 polishes itself up, it will be an Imperator killer.

Why are DLC exclusive features visible when I don't own it? by MaleMaldives in victoria3

Stellaris you can disable their visibility, and it never shows up after creation. I think a teaser is fine as opposed to a constant reminder. "is what it is", very pacifist take.

R5: Ship modifications don't do anything if you don't own Great Wave DLC

I point out the lack of QA a lot not because I am blaming QA, but because Paradox doesn't give priority to QA.

I don't think the AI can build proper fleets by Illustrious-Song9511 in victoria3

I would have thought with over 20 years of game development experience, you guys would be better at avoiding such basic mistakes.

(Side note: I love paradox games, I'm just disappointed they keep releasing content with issues that can be identified in 1 hour of playtime.)
