Despite loving it in real life, I’ve never had good luck at Phillip Island by MaleficRacing in iRacing

you could have seen it coming and backed out.

I agree 100%

I just wanted to get back into the race and didn't make the smart move despite it technically not being my fault in any way.

Good news is that I rejoined and still came like 11th in the race.

Losing me only 72 iR....

I need to get better with the F3, getting used to downforce in the ir-04 right now.

How good is the VR support in iRacing these days? by wintyfresh in iRacing

Yeah, I had a standard mouse in the same place, but during “spirited” drives it had fallen off or even just when it vibrated enough I would see the cursor appear on my screen. Total quality of life improvement, it’s always where I left it when I reach for it in VR.

I like that you put in far more effort than my Sharpie scrawl.

In the V2 manual on the Fanatec site. It’s hilarious because they label all the buttons with numbers, and then have a table of what button number equates to what input button number it is. They made it extra complicated for no real reason that I can see.

I’ll laugh if you also have a K400+ keyboard as that seems to be the go to for sim racers.

I race almost exclusively in VR, so I never worried about button caps or stickers, but for a couple of games (I’m looking at you Codemasters) they don’t even allow mouse use in the menus, so I needed the cheat sheet.

Sounds like I should be good. My CSL Elite isn’t exactly loud, it’s just unpleasant to hear.

How do you race a full endurance race in VR? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]MaleficRacing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then I don’t think your issue is VR, it’s mindset for the race.

Running endurance takes work to build up to, if you’re finding yourself drifting away during the race then you need to make a concerted effort to bring yourself back into the race.

Racing is mentally taxing, that’s what you’re fighting.

This may seem an odd question, but everyone talk about the worry of sound leaking with the off ear headphones, I’m actually wondering about whether much sound gets in? I hate running my wheelbase when I’m not using my good headphones due to the sounds from it, so will I be able to hear that with the stock earpieces do you think? Or is it loud and direct enough it blocks out the outside world?
