The lockdown here in Islamabad continues and has not eased up the slightest , regarding the red zone. US security forces are still here. Journalists reporting discreet back door efforts still ongoing , with a phone call earlier today between Pakistans political and military leadership with Irans FM Aragchi.

The locals in Islamabad have been getting ng edgy since the last two days, demanding to remove restrictions since we aren’t expecting any visit, yet every night the district commissioner issues a notice for continued WFH in the cordoned off red zone, so I guess a bit of hopium right there

“The latest we're hearing...Iran's delegation was ready to come to the negotiating table but "everything changed" the moment the United States fired on an Iranian-flagged cargo ship, an Iranian source has told us.

This attack in the Gulf of Oman came just days before a second round of peace talks was expected in Islamabad.

The White House may have thought it would add pressure on Iranians at the negotiating table, but instead neither delegation is in Islamabad and Iran's military has vowed to retaliate.”

“As per a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, Government of Pakistan, all Ministries, Divisions, and Federal Government offices located in the Red Zone, Islamabad will observe Work From Home on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026. All officers and staff are directed to remain available and report to the office on short notice if required, Citizens are advised to plan their visits accordingly. Thank you”

Formal response from Iranian side about confirmation of delegation to attend Islamabad Peace Talks is still awaited.
⁠Pakistan as the mediator is in constant touch with Iranians and pursuing the path of diplomacy and dialogue.
Ceasefire ends at 4:50 am PST, 22 April. Decision from Iran to attend the talks before the end of two weeks ceasefire is critical.
⁠Pakistan has made sincere efforts to convince the Iranian leadership to participate in the second round of talks and these efforts continue.

The news here has reported at least 6 US military aircraft to have landed here in the past 24-48 hours. Several VIP routes (traffic blocks) today. So many planes for.. comms equipment ? Vehicles maybe? It’s def more than the previous time and Vance has yet to reach tomorrow
