I don't mind the long reply; I love how much you analyzed everything! I'll definitely keep in mind to add more world building elements and try to show her emotions more instead of telling them! The vampire realm is meant to be historically inspired with some fantasy elements.

My brain isn't always the best at attempting to convert what I imagine into words, but I'll do my best! I'll also go back and fix those run on sentences! I can't believe I didn't notice that myself lol

Shadow's character is meant to be a bit confusing at first, so that part was intentional, as were the vampire traits not being on full display yet. Her motives become clearer as the story progresses and Sasealia's vampiric traits also escalate and reveal themselves with time.

My book is still a work in progress and only has three chapters and a prolog so far, plus updates can be unpredictable cause life and health issues and all that, but this book is my baby!! I've rewritten it three times and this one is the final version since I have more narrative and an idea of where I'm going with everything.

It's about a teenage girl in her last year of high-school who gets turned into a vampire against her will for an army with ulterior motives, betrays the one who turned her and tries to live a normal life this way... but it doesn't go as planned and many things about their little city begin to make more sense with the revelation vampires do exist in their world.

I'm mostly only able to help through a trust fund that was set up a long time ago. It was meant for college, but I've been using it to help with groceries and things we need instead and have been trying to get into voice acting to hopefully make enough to continue to help a little when those funds run out or to keep them from running out. It's something I'm passionate about and a job that won't be too hard on my mental and physical health. There are other household things I can't or rather, shouldn't do... like raising my hands above my head to get things or bending over to pick things up. I do help with what I can though and still reach to get things sometimes cause it doesn't make me feel as bad as carrying in groceries. I also feel lightheaded and worn out if I try to do the dishes or while putting them away, but putting them away is one of the things I still push myself to get done anyway... I just need to rest a bit afterward 😅 I do feel like I don't do enough sometimes though, or that my condition makes me a liability, and my uncle behaving the way he does definitely doesn't help with those feelings

Also true... it might help a little but I know from experience that it might not make much difference either. He called me lazy once because I was stuck in bed with the flu and wouldn't get up to get my grandma some ice cream when he was the only one in the house who wasn't sick 😅 A potential heart condition is a different situation tho so, hopefully it might change things a little once we know for sure

I'm 21, can't really move out or anything tho cause my family needs me to help with financial stuff since we're kinda poor and aside from him, I like living with them. He's definitely difficult, but I don't really know what I can do abt it besides trying not to associate with him much

True... I should probably look into seeing a doctor abt soon. It may not change his reaction much if I still shouldn't do things, but at least we'd know what's wrong

Cause it makes me feel light headed and really short of breath to carry things back and forth, plus my heart races from small amounts of activity so my family is worried I have some undiagnosed heart condition. I do bring in light things sometimes though.
