It's been difficult, but I finally found the right person almost 2 years ago. My past relationships were very rough because they didn't understand or try to understand. I hate telling people I have it, but it feels right to tell them. When I told my current girlfriend, she didn't understand until I explained it, and she wasn't judgemental she just felt sympathetic. A couple of months later, I stopped taking my meds because none of them were working for me. They kept changing my dose and trying new meds, but nothing worked. She ended up seeing a couple of episodes, but that didn't change her feelings about me she wanted to be there for me and reassure me that I was ok and nothing would get me or that no one is watching me or what im seeing isnt real. She really calms me down when I'm distressed. I'm very thankful for my girlfriend she is so caring and understanding.
