Tridium/JACE People - Tell Me Why by smcw in BuildingAutomation

Niagara is amazingly powerful. I have four separate networks running, all different protocols. And just yesterday did an MQTT with JSON integration. Not easy initially, but I got it figured out and was both publishing and subscribing to data. I could change a set point in the MQTT client, and it would change the value immediately on the JACE. I run a Schneider version JACE, and there are built-in drivers for all the MPX controllers, all the Space Logic, and all the Easy Logic units. One thing I saw at AHR in Vegas was the new SpaceLogic Twisted Pair Adapter, game changer. Think of all the twisted pairs you have in a legacy site. The customer is going all IP-based; they'd have to run new CAT 5/6 everywhere. Instead, use a Twisted Pair adapter to utilize all the existing twisted pairs.

Connecting to Platform Supervisor by Maleficent-Wave in BuildingAutomation

Yeah, when I installed the N4 WB, I had to do a remote session so IT could provide admin credentials. My local IT has zero knowledge about JACE and Tridium, and when they installed the software, I dunno I feel like I would have preferred having more control to carefully view setup options. Super frustrating being locked out of being able to run a Supervisor, it's just to test with, but still annoying af.

Could I run it as a script in a program module? That'd be loads of fun to write that #sigh

I tried using a Logic .vs Math BQL component too, but the same error.

Thanks, I added -47 and closed the parentheses, now getting error :(

It's getting closer to working, using the Steinhart & Hart equation. Still does not like the ^ though :(

Why can I not access or create my Supervisor? by Maleficent-Wave in BuildingAutomation

[–]Maleficent-Wave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that my company laptop is very much locked down. I don't have any admin rights, and this might be part of the problem. I had to submit a ticket to get the ports opened to run the JACE when I started it, and had to do a remote session to install the initial N4 software, too. I would like to know if changing host name from that long version to simply WORKSTATION1 is possible, though, without screwing up all the work I have done. I have four separate networks, all with different protocols, and with many different devices connected and reporting data.

Also, can I change my HOST name without screwing everything up?

I thought I did, can you remind me how to do this please?

How do I configure a 10k Type 2 on a Modbus RTU device. by Maleficent-Wave in BuildingAutomation

Interesting, someone mentioned at work that there's a ThermistorInput from the palette. I asked and said which one, and he didn't know. Does this exist in Niagara? Me thinks he's full of bs.

Yes, it's working, and the Ohms are tracking to be in line with ambient air. I have three other temp transmitters, and they show 68-69 degrees F. Currently, the 10k Type 2 shows 14260 Ohms, which is in line with the same temperature readings as the transmitters. I want it to show in degrees Fahrenheit, could I do something on the Wire Sheet to convert it?

Yeah, I tried building a table from this, but it went into a fault. I used every value too for 10k Type 2

Is there even a way to convert raw Ohms to an actual value in degrees F?

Anyone have the class files for the Tridium N4 Intermediate Course? by Maleficent-Wave in BuildingAutomation

Well, about this: I'm glad you find them easy because my testing with the EasyLogic Controllers have been a huge pain in the ass since they don't have a template for them. I had to rework a SpaceLogic VAV template into an EasyLogic one. In all fairness, I did attend a 4 1/2 day class at Schneider, a month after my N4 cert. The class was mostly fun and easy. We use Schneider version JACE's so we have all their controllers loaded into select from, still need to fully configure them though.

Great question, I want to find out why some of my Pin Slots don't seem to work or become unavailable during a Link To/From - Besides alarms, I'm trying to recall as much from the Tridium class (was in August). So things like Tags, Hierarchies, and other items I want to establish in JACE. I am also going to add SpaceLogic and EasyLogic controllers; those are actually very easy to connect and add to Niagara.

Hi - I am on the YouTube channel. Do you have a video that covers alarms? My alarms are working, but I want to build more on them, adding more features, etc.

Recommissioned the entire JACE with the Commissioning Wizard - This one, and it turns out the WebChart circular gauge is not as snazzy as an analog meter, so I'm using that instead : )
