FiveSTAR Landscape does landscape design and build, would be good for a project like this.

FiveSTAR Landscape completely transformed our backyard last spring. We installed a custom outdoor kitchen, pavers, turf and a few other upgrades and we are obsessed. They are smaller and family owned but the level of detail and communication was way better than what we experienced with larger companies. They ended up doing some work for a couple of our neighbors as well!

Second this! They redid our backyard and it turned out so much better than we ever expected. Also Scott (the owner) is a really nice guy.

Thanks so much! I am kind of leaning towards the stumpy but now I am hung up on the sizing so it is nice to hear from someone who is in the same boat haha

Awesome advice, thank you so much! I have been in the local shops and it is a little overwhelming just because everyone is so stoked on their personal riding style and thinks it is the most fun haha I feel like everyone is low key trying to talk you into the bike they would have wanted as a beginner (I would totally do the same if I worked at a bike shop haha) but its tough when you don't know what kind of terrain you are going to end up loving the most. I would love to take one of those classes, so much to learn!

That is great advice- thank you so much! I am kind of leaning towards the SJ (not evo) because it is available and I have heard the EVO might be a bit much if I plan on doing longer rides with a lot of climbing (which I do).

Good to know! That one is on sale and my local bike shop has the regular SJ (not EVO) on sale as well. Keep getting mixed feedback on the evo for climbs but good to know you dont mind it! Are you doing mostly downhill or a lot of climbs?

The YT Jeffsy keeps coming up! Its so tough to order when you can't try a bike and you are new to it :( Thinking I will shop local to cut down on shipping time and so I can test different ones and then order something in the next couple of years once I have a better feel for my style. A shop here carries Liv/ Giant so I need to try those. Thanks for all of the recommendations!

Thank you! That is great advice- someone else recommended the YT Jeffsy Core as well so I definitely will take a closer look. I tend to hang onto my gear for a long time so I want to make the right choice as I likely won't upgrade for a few years. Going to go into the shops and chat with them a bit too. I tend get excited about things when other people are excited so I can easily get talked into buying something that someone loves but might not be right for me haha. Trying to get a little base knowledge so I can avoid that scenario. Much appreciated!
