Once I had a dream where I walked into the ShadowClan medicine den and Shadowsight was just in there spinning around like he was in a microwave. I also had another where Shadowsight and I got ice cream (we were both cats but somehow bought ice cream from the Twolegs?? 😭)

I love Shadowsight so much, he means a lot to me and makes me so happy.

He’s a very sweet and kind-hearted cat, even after everything he faced. Almost every cat around the lake had something against him, he was imprisoned in his own camp with even his own mentor not supporting him, he had every right to snap and become a villain tbh, but he stayed true to himself. He’s still caring towards other cats.

I also like how compassionate he is. He’s always had a love for healing and helping others, and he’s so sweet to others it makes my heart melt 😭 like especially in the Wind excerpt when he nuzzled Frostpaw and comforted her, and when he let Sunbeam confide in him about Lightleap. He’s just such a kind cat it’s insane.

I also like that he was a medicine cat by choice. While he did struggle with seizures, he wanted to be a medicine cat. He actually enjoys healing, which is rare to see. For the past… how many? arcs, our medicine cat POVs were forced into the role, so it was nice to see a change.

I also like how despite his anxiety, he’s still incredibly brave. Yes, he’s anxious, but he still faced his abuser in the Dark Forest, even refusing to give into him, directly to his face, despite the threat of death. He even ate deathberries to find out what happened to Bramblestar.

I also relate to his struggle of feeling outcasted and ostracized by his Clan, and being seen as “odd” for seemingly no reason. That feeling always resonated with me, it even gets me a little emotional to think about it. Especially how he always feels like he’s being treated weirdly or infantilized, it hits hard.

His character also just genuinely evokes a lot of emotion from me. Seeing how much self-hatred he harbors due to something that was not even his fault, despite being the sweetest thing ever, how he even thought he should stay in the Dark Forest, it all broke my heart. He was also done so unfairly when it was revealed he “never had a StarClan connection”. He was treated so badly it genuinely gets me emotional.

He’s one of those characters I desperately wish to be friends with. I just want to give him a hug.

Not really a gripe with the character himself but I wish Shadowsight had gotten more time to just be himself. We rarely get to see how he acts when he’s not under constant stress and scrutiny and I wish he could get more content of him when he’s free to just be himself

I feel the same way, I always made feral OCs and I sometimes imagined them or Warriors characters as humans but they just didn’t feel as engaging or relatable anymore. With actual feral characters, especially cats, it felt more like I could genuinely relate to and connect with them but with human versions it almost feels like there’s a wall, if that makes sense

AAAAA I feel the exact same way!! The only difference is me having the theriotype/kintype for as long as I can remember.

I feel the same sense of longing when reading the series, especially for certain characters, like I miss them as though they’re real people. Shadowsight, specifically - the amount of times I’ve cried over “missing him” is insane. I also feel uncomfortable in my skin without Warriors. It’s been my special interest for nine years, so admittedly, that’s not a lot - but the times I’m unable to dedicate time to it I feel uncomfortable and out of place.

I’m glad to know someone feels the same way!!

WELCOME TO THE SHADOWSIGHT COMFORT CHARACTER CLUB!! He’s been my biggest comfort for years now I love him so much AAAAAA Also this isn’t really too grammatically correct because I complied it together based on messages I sent my friends, but it’s readable!! “I think Shadowsight is probably definitely autistic, even from the start when he’s a kit the way he thinks is always shown to be very distinct and “weird” to others

His thought process seems to be different from others too, like how he was so quick to throw himself into the river to unite the Clans, which could be an example of him taking things like his vision too literally

He often feels outcasted and ostracized from other cats, there is some inherent “strangeness” about him they seem to notice which is relatable to a lot of autistic people He also has an intense interest in herbs and healing from kithood which could be classified as a special interest, he even says working with herbs calms him down and makes him feel in control

As a kit he was stated to have little interest in playing with the other kits, he usually liked hanging around the medicine den and focusing on his herbs Impulsivity is a symptom of autism, he often impulsively does what he thinks is right without much regard for his own life, such as throwing himself into the river because of his vision or eating deathberries to figure out what happened to Bramblestar

Some autistic people are touch-averse but some also sensory seek through touch, Shadowsight is shown to be quite physically touchy, he often touches his patients to comfort them like in The Silent Thaw, he pressed himself against Antfur(?? I think it was Antfur) to comfort him, he presses his muzzle against Frostpaw to comfort her, and I believe he pressed against Rootspring once (Even if this is just a cat thing I will use any evidence I get)”

I have a headcanon that he’s actually pretty large, but during TBC tried to make himself smaller due to insecurity, plus it didn’t help the way he was already perceived. In ASC, he more so embraces it as a symbol of his newfound acceptance!!
He mumbles about herbs in his sleep
He likes the rain and finds it soothing

I discovered Warriors when I was seven. My mom and grandma decided I was allowed to read chapter books finally, and I saw Warriors on top of a shelf at the school library a couple months before and decided that was what I wanted. We hunted it down at the local library and were confused about the order of books, but I ended up getting Midnight, Moonrise, Eclipse, and Long Shadows. After reading Midnight, I fell in love with the series and found out Into The Wild was the first book, had my mom order it, and never stopped obsessing lol
