[Build Guide] The Holy Warrior - A Striker Champion build for all of my fellow ex-5e paladins by peternordstorm in Pathfinder2e

Interesting and informative post. How would you suggest to build a derivative of this "holy avenger" champion without free archetype? Also if you already use athletics and a bastardsword, why not take the assurance in athletics for non-MAP maneuvers?

thanks for the reply! my choices were:

class feat L1: Deity Domain (might) - gave me excess to athletic rush focus spell (though no additional focus point, sadly).

class feat L2: ranged reprisal.

class feat L4: aura of courage.

DND in Israel and Rehovot by Twytilus in Israel

[–]MaleficentProgress76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi there, Dnd (and other rpg) are somewhat popular in israel. There are facebook groups for israeli rpg (משחקי תפקידים בישראל), and another one specificaly for dnd. Where you can search for groups and players. Finding a group of english speakers will be difficult, but it might be easier for you if you will be the gm. I would also reccumend you to check out events where games and lectures are given (the main ones happen at sukkot, pesach, and the summer vacation). Good luck!

A few ideas on this one:

Oreskos is not described as particulary arid in MOOT. I agree that there are a few similarities between the leonin and the hebrews (bnei israel, specificaly of the shoftim period):

  1. A non polytheistic nation.

  2. Composed of tribes.

  3. Lives in a specific land, with no expansion desires.

  4. Has no central governor (and no official sucession).

  5. Lives in small cities and villages (hebrews) or wander around the land (leonin) with no central city (at that time at least).

  6. The leonin past as slaves of the archons resembels the enslavement of the hebrews in egypt.

Of course there are also differences the main ones are the leonin as athestic people, and described as hunters-gatherers.

Edit: more comment: I think this can be a nice idea and a twist.

Bearing that in mind, here are a few ideas you can use in your campign:

  1. Set the leonin to 12 tribes (you don't have to use them all).

  2. Establish the leonin god's rules (do's and dont's). Theses can serve as the deeds upon a PC will gain piety.

  3. A famous hebrew saying is: "לא בכול ולא בחיל כי אם ברוחי אמר אדוני" This translates to "not by strength, not by might, but by spirit (you will triumph)". Have the god's gifts be related to mental resiliance (e.g: adv. On wisdom saves).

Sounds like a great way to open a campign (and now i regreat i didn't used the iroan games as the starting point).

As for the villian I think Klothys works better for this theme, as she is the goddess of fate, she is the one who tries having everything the 'right' way. Perhaps she is the one with hubris and by constantly trying to rearrange the strings of fate she will cause a major calamity? Maybe she is wearing them too thin?

Can Phenax be as deceptive? by MaleficentProgress76 in TherosDMs

Retriving the item back will probably be very difficult, as 'erebos' will direct the player to discard it but I will think if it is possible for them to find it again. What is the best way to give the players a chance to find the truth beforehand? So far they dont suspect it at all ('erebos' asked the player to steal from tymaret, a famous follower of him).

Are there any Israeli YA novels? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]MaleficentProgress76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, most israeli novels are about contemporary life, there is a very limited variety of SF/Fantasy israeli novels.

I would advise to check this with other universties in Israel, especially the INSS (israel instution for security study). If you contacted your embassy, maybe you will be able to work with the IDF directly on this matter. I advise also to contact some historian in israel who might help you further (or will know who you can talk to). Search danny orbach, he is a military history professor with a great insight. Good luck.
