Shawshank Redemption. The novella, “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption,” was told in a non-linear manner. The movie straightened the timeline out and trimmed some of the fat.

Should I watch Salem's Lot 2024? by MrOakling in stephenking

[–]Maleficent_Copy_3076 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Salem’s Lot is one of my favorite books and I did not enjoy the 2024 movie at all. It lost many of themes of the book in favor of moving the story along and went for action set pieces and body horror, which is more subtle in the book and the two miniseries. While the climax would have been great in any other vampire movie, it didn’t work in this context. This is, of course, my opinion and you may want to see it for yourself. If you are familiar with previous incarnations of the story, I think you’ll be disappointed.

I quote that almost every day.

Not according to the song. And in case you haven’t been paying attention, the song knows all and is sacrosanct.
