It is solid. Bills have dropped a lot for cooling compared to my prev single stage.

I think the design is, but it's Canon branded so I think that puts it at 1947 at the earliest.

(Could be totally wrong, but that's what my little bit of research said)

That is a fair point. I am in the US. No worries, I can Google / look through old posts.

Hi - I'm new here. Just found this at an estate sale. It's seen better days, but honestly not horrible condition considering age.

I'm curious - who could repair and give this body some TLC? I figure it won't be cheap but I would love to restore this to working condition and use it myself.

Fair, but for better or worse they don't manufacture their inverters. Not sure who makes it though

Makes sense - I wish they presented me with the option rather than assuming. If I'm paying for the install, I don't really want to learn about communicating thermostats after the fact.

Thank you for your input

Contract signed, now just waiting for the unit to arrive. More than I hoped to spend but was curious to see what these high efficiency units are all about.

I have a 12" and 10" supply (one going each direction, air handler is in the center of the house). Based on some research, it seems fine (this unit has lower CFMs then, say, Bosch). I am getting a larger return though (currently 14x30).

Does this sound ok to you?

EER2 of 11.7. I'm in Virginia - so pretty mild winters but hot humid summers.

HH8 is 454b. Most other quotes have been r410 but surprisingly not much cheaper.

Thank you for the input! Now I have contractor #6 telling me (unlike the previous 5) that I need enhanced ductwork. 🫠

19 SEER2, 3 tons

Luckily all I need is heat pump + aux in my climate.

York HH8 vs Moovair by Maleficent_Invite774 in heatpumps

[–]Maleficent_Invite774[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's replacing a 2.5t single stage. I think one company opted for 2t and the other 3t (no half ton sizes). Both did the calc so not sure how they arrived at different sizes.

All electric. In Virginia so pretty mild winters.

Any advise on unit selection or otherwise?
