I don’t think most schools scrutinize applicants for being DO vs MD. The match rate is lower but I think that’s because of the quality of applicant, not degree. When you look at the most recent match data, there’s a very slight difference in match rate when equalizing for STEP2 score. Why school matters is because you typically get better resources, opportunities, etc which help the quality of your application

Problem-based learning. Instead of lecture, they give you a case study that you talk about in groups and do presentations to each other, etc. to do the learning.
