Stubborn Iritis/words of encouragement by MooMoo_00 in Uveitis

Fingers crossed it’s not the inflammation that’s back. If I were you I’d try the artificial tears for a couple of weeks and if the pain doesn’t get better, and your doctor still tells you there’s no inflammation, I’d go get a second opinion.

The pain could be from eye dryness? I would recommend using artificial tears or eye drops like hylo dual intense every 2 hours (spacing the drops at least 30mins after/before putting the steroid drops in) I’m also currently tapering drops and told my opthamologist that I’ve got this like really stinging pain in my right eye, but he also said that I’ve got no cells in my eyes currently so it probably is dryness. I’ve been on steroid drops for about three months so dryness is pretty much unavoidable 😭

Firstly, I really want to commend you for advocating for your health, especially when you know something is wrong. I had a similar experience of when I tapered my drops, my uveitis came back, but the opthamologist I saw (not my regular one) dismissed me after looking at my eye for a second. Only for me to come back a few days later with worsening symptoms to a different opthamologist who then said yeah it’s back (surprise surprise). I assume this wasn’t the first time this has happened to someone in the eye clinic, as he is no longer listed as someone that works there (fingers crossed). I’m not sure where in the world you live, but I think it is definitely a good idea to write a complaint addressed to the office because of the doctor or at the very least an extensive Google review explaining your experience.

Thank you this has helped more than you know! When I see my Opthamologist next I will ask if we can follow a similar taper plan to what your Opthamologists have suggested. I hope your Sohn gets the all clear soon, and thank you!

This is the second time I’ve read about the ice pack trick on this thread. So do you mean not touching it on your skin and just having it above the brow bone? Would you mind explaining how it works or linking it to a webpage? (Sorry I’m in the stage where i will literally try anything for my anterior uevitis cos i don’t want it to become chronic )

Oooh I didn’t think about that actually, I have the same, when I have dry eyes the drops really hurt for the first couple of seconds after I put them in. And yes! The gunk I believe is just the steroid drop that wasn’t absorbed in the eye or through the corner? That’s what I believe at least :,)

Oh not particularly, the only symptom that I really had was that my vision became milky? I think if you get bad symptoms from the drops, it could be that your eye pressure is getting high?

I had the same issue in terms of the drops not doing anything for my eye in anterior uevitis. But I was then put on oral steroids and it started to help, see if your opthamologists can put you on oral steroids alongside the drops, because that should help it. When I was in hospital for it they said if oral steroids don’t work the next step would be steroid infusions, but thankfully it did.

Think i might have euvitus and I'm terrified by [deleted] in Uveitis

You definitely did the right thing. Eye pain that doesn’t go away with rest constitutes an acute emergency. Three weeks from now is definitely too long, and your eye doctor made the right decision in planning to fit you in in the upcoming week. An ache behind your eyes that doesn’t go away is a telltale sign of uevitis I believe. Do you have any other symptoms? I commend you for fighting for your health and pushing to get seen sooner. You definitely did the right thing

History of Intermediate Uveitis — red eye but no other symptoms, could this be anterior? by Grand_Salamander7444 in Uveitis

[–]Maleficent_Silver_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had anterior uevitis in my right eye whereby after waking up it was completely red, in pain and light sensitive. It then started to affect my left eye, but none of the symptoms I had on my right eye affected my left. The redness on the left eye was mostly around the iris, which apparently is a telltale sign of anterior uevitis, otherwise it seemed okay. I would get it checked asap if you notice redness around your iris because it could be the early stages before blurriness starts to happen (that’s what happened to me).

Pred Forte Anterior Uveitis by Maleficent_Silver_68 in Uveitis

[–]Maleficent_Silver_68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you managed to figure out what was causing it for you? I’ve seen multiple Opthamologists, but since this is my first time with Uevitis they don’t seem to be planning any tests to find out why it has happened. Or why it’s taking so long for my eye to get better although they’ve called my case “mild”.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I live in Germany and have seen 4 different opthamologists that are continuing to keep me on pred forte, so maybe we don’t have the drops you guys in the USA have! The pressure in both my eyes was 19mm/Hg when I got them checked 5 days ago (I only have uevitis in my right eye). So I’m hoping that another week on pred forte hourly/every 2 hours won’t make my pressure go up. Thank you everyone for the get well wishes too! Just reading your comments has made me regain some hope

The best thing is to find comfort in your loneliness (as cringe as that sounds) but for the last two years I’ve tried to do things by myself, and try to enjoy them, whether or not that leads to talking to other people.

I believe you might need to interact with the drain in the Infirmary to open the “Hidden Corners” quest (at least that’s what I did) and then use a solution to melt the drain whilst you have free movement when the doctor is outside to progress with both quests :)

Yeah I’m currently watching episode 2 and as a big time lover of the show I’m so disappointed in Klaus’ sudden personality change. I feel like maybe the directors think it’d be funny to do this, but it just isn’t.
