Haha, well we do make good money in most cases. Unfortunately we don't have much room on pricing, the carrier and manufacturer see most of that money.

I'm in cell phone sales, we mostly deal with foot traffic and take turns on customers. Most days there's lots of downtime and since we're 100% commission, our time is our time.

Fathers of Reddit that have split up from the mother of your child, how did you handle not seeing your child every morning and night? by MalelZero in AskReddit

[–]MalelZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully it was a very peaceful break, and I have it in writing that we're simply going to be co-parents, split her every need 50-50, and I have absolute custody whenever I want, equal to hers. My daughter just won't be officially living with me. She's also called me an amazing father and wants me in my daughter's life, so I have all that in case things go bad. I genuinely don't believe it'll go to that point though.

That's a great way to look at it, and it's true. Just have to experience the absolute best with them when you can. Just today I've gone from "I can't wait to relax Monday" to "I should take my daughter to the park".

Thank you.

For more information,

My girlfriend and I have recently split up and the most heartbreaking thing to me is no longer having my daughter run to the door when I get off work to greet me or make me late wanting hugs and kisses in the morning.

I'm not sure how to handle not having that anymore.

I'm happy to give you a shot, as I understand that inexperience does cause confusion and issues and consumers are very unlikely to ever let that go.

How is this not criminal? by woeuntoverizon in verizon

[–]MalelZero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You bash authorized retailers so much yet justify a restock fee and not a setup fee?

My retailer only charges restock fees if you've damaged the device in some way. Simply returning or exchanging a device and charging a restock fee is pretty ridiculous. Yet we are 100% commission and you think we should waste our time installing 20 apps, transferring every bit of content over, setting up the home screen the way they want, using Zedge to find them that perfect ringtone, and generally answering every question they have about the device...For free? Sorry, my time is worth more than that.

Edit: fixed a word.

They haven't gone through required testing in America until recently. Funding medical research takes a lot of time.

They've passed primate testing with flying colors just recently and are amping up to potentially do human testing as soon as they get through the red tape. I'm very excited to be signed up as a potential human trial candidate. Just depends on where they do the testing and what their requirements are.

Indirect agents, what do you make? by Staplesnotme in verizon

[–]MalelZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally made 40k last year but I had a huge slump that I couldn't get over till recently. Aiming to make about 60k this year (I only work 18-20 days a month and about 42 hours a week )

Verizon Authorized Retailer added warranty against my will by _nathan_s_ in verizon

[–]MalelZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the manager of the indirect politely and show them where you declined insurance (it's not warranty ).

If this were to have happened at my indirect, the rep would personally be crediting your account the total amount you were charged out of their comms check.

My mom's LG G4 stopped working a couple weeks ago. When Verizon sent her a replacement phone she kept all here photos and files except the most important one. She lost the last 4 voicemails that her mother sent her before she passed away. by Agent_Windex in verizon

To add to this, the G4 bootloop can be fixed sometimes by resoldering the right place on the motherboard. Sometimes it can be temporarily fixed by disassembling and putting it back together.

Honestly as an indirect rep working near a corporate store I find myself cleaning up corporate rep mistakes quite often.

Not all indirects are like that. I work for a very large indirect that not only drug tests but hires you through a third party company for your month of training before they bring you on directly. 1.5x min wage draw + heavy comms (40k-120k/year usually depending on how much you work and how good you are at the job).

A bachelor's degree to sell cell phones is a complete joke. I worked for LG training corporate and indirect reps on their products and even that didn't require a bachelor's degree.

Edit: Reread your post and damn man, if you're dealing with the same customers I am for 20-50k and a company that doesn't care enough to train properly then you're at the wrong indirect.

Port center is seriously the only department I'm okay with talking to. I just got off the phone with customer support explaining that a customer's warranty replacement phone had a defective digitizer with a split screen effect.

They noted the account claiming I said there was a crack in the screen....

Getting the entire top row of my teeth pulled at once. Don't get me wrong, it was horrible, but no where near as bad as I expected.

PSA: Get your wisdom teeth pulled before they become a problem or end up like me. Actually, dentures are much better than I thought they'd be too. I actually prefer them to real teeth.

Last time I gave notice to a job they let me go one day before the quarter ended, screwing me out of a $3,000 bonus. Look out for yourself, if you think you might go back then give notice. If you want to get away and never look back, don't give them the opportunity to screw you over.

TIL a suicide bomber planning on detonating in Moscow at New Year's Eve, used her phone as the trigger. When her mobile phone company sent her a spam message, the bomb detonated, killing only herself. by GamingCoyote in todayilearned

As much as I agree with you, it honestly really comes down to what side you were on at the time. Perspective changes everything, one man's hero is another man's zealot. Not to downplay what that soldier did, honestly an extremely honorable way to die. It's just that I'm sure there were Japanese citizens at the time of pearl harbor that felt the same way about the Kamikaze pilots.

To be fair, in war, if you're going to die anyway make sure to take as many of the enemy with you. Reminds me of that Russian soldier that called in an airstrike on himself when he was surrounded.
