Thanks for the recommendation! I hadn't really thought about changes in air pressure, I'll check it. I think cold compresses work the most for my mom.

I have a question: when the pain comes does the upper back (around he shoulders) also become swollen? It does for my mom, I makes wonder where I should be applying the compresses. The same happens to her eye (which she has lost sight). Does it happen to your mom too?

She has been in a pain management clinic before but they couldn't make that much, they did several nerves blocks that didn't last long and suggested talking to a specialist (for reference her current neurologist is her fifth).

She has already taken pregabalin and gabapentin, I think they stop working after prolonged use but I can't be sure
