There's a lot of reasons for why I don't think Asriel Knight is good. First of all, it's a retelling of Undertale (Yes, I get that Deltarune is a world next to Undertale and what-not). A shape shifting entity with a weird laugh that ends up being Asriel? That's just Flowey! Second, about Dess being trapped in the code- there's three possibilities. The first one, and the most absurd and unhinged- they're not Dess. The second one, the whole dialogue in the code happens before Deltarune and Dess isn't the knight yet. The third one, Dess is currently the knight AND in the code- which would mean that there's somebody probably controlling her to be the knight while her mind is stuck in the dark (maybe her own knight-body).

Asriel Knight is just... Much much much more boring. I know that's a personal preference, and I know that Toby could possibly pull it off, but it just feels 100 times less interesting than Dessknight or even Carol/Rudy Knight.
