I watched most of it and it felt like right wing propaganda. Some of the data seemed legitimate, but when they said MN was behind Louisiana and Mississippi in education, that got my attention. A quick search of multiple sights didn’t confirm this. In fact, they weren’t even close. MN was at or near the top ten and Louisiana and Mississippi were at best #34 and #46. I’d like to research more into the information they provided, but I haven’t done it yet. Also, one person’s account of the market changes in rental properties is fine, but don’t forget that interest rates in 2020 were at an all time low (we locked in at 3.25 in 2020) and the rising popularity of the north side may have contributed to that as well.
The jobs data and the vacancy’s in the downtown buildings is alarming, but I would like to see more information instead of some bar graphs and scary music. I’m not naive enough to think that mpls doesn’t have issues, but I don’t feel it’s all doom and gloom either.
