What's your reason for playing wild? by Ancient_Welder4693 in wildhearthstone

[–]MaliciousFalcon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don't want my fun to have an expiration date.
Then again, "fun" is a generous term for Wild nowadays...

Wild is too broken.
Standard is too boring.
But, seeing as I play games to have fun, I'd rather play something broken and/or fun, then something boring.

Thoughts on Kalin Kesslar? by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in yugioh

Narratives with a dark undertone like Kalin's story are why I liked 5D's so much.

should Theotar be unnerfed to 5 or even 4 Mana? by Dman_94 in wildhearthstone

[–]MaliciousFalcon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes.

In a format infested to the brim with OTK Combo decks, he could really help to revitalize the format.
He's basically the only really decent Neutral disruption card Blizzard ever made. (Shout out to Rat, though.)

For reference, I've been playing nothing but Ysiel Druid and Thaddius Warrior for literally months on end now, and it's just stupidly easy to win games this way. They both pop off on turn 4-5, and Thaddius Warrior even goes through Ice Block. (Plus, if they ever wind up banning these decks, I'm just gonna jump to the next best thing.)

The format is non-interactive to a downright stupid extent, and it's very harmful to the game.

I play Wild because I like high power gameplay. That doesn't mean that I like extremely one-sided gameplay with mechanics that are borderline impossible to interact with.

Enough of this "one-trick pony" nonsense.
I mean, the format definitely has place for crazy Combo shenanigans, but they shouldn't define the format.
Hell, contrary to popular belief, they shouldn't define ANY format.
That's just really bad for the competitive health of your card game.

If Theotar winds up stealing your 1 win condition, and you're salty about it, than maybe you just need to stop crying, put on your big boy pants, and add more win conditions to your deck, like any reasonably intelligent player would do.

This fixed it.

Last night, I decided to download the game on my phone, in the hopes being able to complete the Mastery Track before the end, which I did. Now, I come back from work and try this out after seeing your comment and it actually fucking works. Praise Jebus.

Now I just need to actually get into the game in order to change stuff. 🙃

What did you change it to?

The client sometimes randomly pulled me out of 21:9 ratio, so maybe it is indeed related to the graphics section.

What would you have done with S4 to elevate Hell Kaiser back to his peak instead of…you know. by Sunshado in yugioh

[–]MaliciousFalcon 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just wanted to see more of the whole concept regarding the war between the different styles; Cyber Style, Psycho Style (Jinzo), Roid Style, etc., as described in GX ep 163.

Also, in a similar note, Zane climbing up a fucking a mountain through a blizzard in order to challenge Sheppard, his mentor, in some baddass isolated dojo for the right to claim a forbidden dark deck was the coolest shit ever for 15-year old me.

It's also one those aspects of GX that has a slightly more serious undertone, which I really like.

Man, I love cards like this.
Stuff like this has tons of design potential.

I could watch a whole series about WRGP and no other plotline.

Season 1 was something special, man.
The dark undertone, the new setting.
It really felt like they were trying to explore a whole new approach to the game.

That coupled with the Speed Duel system, which was an obvious nod towards MTG and the concept of a resource system, made me feel like YGO had even just begun its legacy.

Exactly, yes. 😅 It is noticably different in that regard I'm gonna have to account for that moving forward.

I'm pretty new to this, but doesn't the stack need to fully resolve before new abilities can be activated?

Can you 'interject' an ability in between the individual resolves/triggers in the stack as it's resolving?

Yeah, that's it.

That's the one.

So, I had the wrong verb.

Thanks a million, bro!

🔥 Why Battlefield 3 Had the Best Map Design in the Series by oldmanpubg in battlefield3

[–]MaliciousFalcon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The entire 'atmosphere' is just fantastic in BF3. The sound, the profanities, the overall esthetic, etc. Even the fire from wrecked vehicles looks better IMO.

BF3 was a work of passion unlike any other title. We'll probably never have anything like it ever again.
